I had New Year's Day Brunch here. The ambience is nice, the servers are friendly, and the food is quite good. I must say it was interesting to have an all you can eat buffet style brunch, with lots of eye-catching items you'd never expect, and I enjoyed myself. This was my first time here, so I can't speak for regular days, but wow was it ever crowded! I know there's not much they could have done because of the holiday but it still coloured my experience. The food here is delicious and excellent but you had better be prepared to pay for the privilege. Our bill for four people came just shy of $400; I didn't mind the price but it's something prospective diners should keep in mind. Overall a very positive experience. I will be returning when I have a special occasion to celebrate for sure.

I went to the Colette Grand Cafe in Yorkdale for the first time on Sunday for brunch. The restaurant was packed! My friends and I ordered brunch; I had a cup of coffee, the Avocado on Toast with a fried egg and also a Vintage Velvet cocktail. The service to the food, to the experience on a whole truly exceeded my expectations. I’m big on customer service and the staff there made sure that ALL tables were attended to, even if it wasn’t their table!! The atmosphere catered to couples, friends and families. I loved how the food was plated and the portions were plentiful. I’m looking forward to dining there again, as there were specialty cocktails and other dishes that I really want to try.

Colette Grand Cafe has super cute Parisian style interior with French spirit of place. Amazing brunch with tasty food ,very nice service and friendly atmosphere. We had a reserved table for four people but didn't really liked place we have been seated by host. Our waiter did his best to make us happy and arranged another table for us. It took less then 2 min even place was packed. Cafe was pretty busy during Sunday brunch time but no one bother each other at all. Everyone enjoyed food and company. Sommelier was very helpful and knowledgeable to help us with choice of wine. Very much impressed.

Very disappointed with our experience! We had a bunch reservation for a group of 6. The service was terribly slow, not what we expected for a higher end restaurant thats been around for enough time. We all sat for almost 20 minutes before our drink orders were taken, and then waited quite sometime before we received them. We ordered a pancake to share and it never arrived. We were there for over 3 hours, the bills took forever and we had to ask multiple times. The server handed one of us all our bills and we had to hand them out. The interior is beautiful and the food is decent.

Having brunched all through Europe and North America, I seek new places to try out. Having heard of Colette repeatedly, having read rave reviews, I was sure it was worth the venture. Took my spouse here to celebrate a birthday. It proved to be a surprising letdown. We had reservations for 2pm (last seating is at 2:30). We Waited until 2:30 to be seated, and were then seated in a tight corner table, against another table, that could barely fit one. There was no bread, no croissants (they said they "sold out" - how do you sell out of an item in a high-end buffet?!), no pastries (Parisians would have had a heart attack, as did I, a pastry lover - what brunch does not have croissants, breads, danishes, muffins, etc?). They ran out of orange juice. The [small] charcuterie and cheese board ran empty quick, and wasn't replenished for a good hour, then for an hour again. The seafood (salmon tartar, freshly shucked oysters, scallops), jumbo shrimp were fantastic, as was the bacon, although overly salty when not balanced with bread. We ordered crepes (which were outstanding) from sheets that awaited us on the table; upon seeing the order of 6 (these are very small, albeit exceptional crepes), the waiter barged into our conversation with an abrupt, "Guys, 6?!" We responded, "yes," and without a word he walked away. We ordered Earl Grey tea. The waiter said they didn't have Earl Grey, but they had Orange Pekoe. All good. We asked for a refill from the waitress, and she said they never had Orange Pekoe, they only have Earl Grey. We waited half an hour for it, having to ask again three more times during that span ("we ran out of the tea, we sent someone on an emergency run, but here are your cups in the meantime," said the waiter, I kid you not). With the buffet closing at 4, we expected all to be maintained until then. Instead, they ran out of plates by 3, and there was a lineup of people asking bewildered waiters for any plates - small, big, bowls; anything. The dessert buffet would have been swell - for a minimalist. Again, poor selection. All in all, the food quality was good, but the variety was among the poorest I've seen. A very small buffet with significant brunch items missing and many others that ran out. An absurdity for any brunch, let alone for this sort. Service was mediocre at best, and the crowd of people by the door awaiting to be seated interfered with the vibe of the restaurant as well as the traffic at the buffet (there really should be a larger wait area considering the lengthy wait). The decor is very nice. By comparison to the brunches of The Four Seasons, Cast Loma, even King Edward or Copper Creek, this was a disappointment. For those seeking a place with a reputation, much like designer label clothing, this would be it. For those seeking variety, quality and service, this wouldn't suffice.
