Wow! Delicious So happy to discover this gem of a culinary experience. Everything I had from smoked salmon, short rib to raspberry radish cold pressed sushi was perfectly paired to dance with my taste buds. It was only after I ordered and read deeper into the menu that I realized all the food is % plant-based and that they have a whole menu of non alcoholic spirits and drinks I haven’t seen elsewhere. I eat out most of the week and lived here for decades and today I experienced some culinary firsts. I look forward to returning with friends and sharing this unique place.
Amazingly delicious and refreshingly innovative vegan sushi! I got the COFU Omakase, COFU Gomae, and the spicy ginger beer. Everything I ordered was phenomenal! All their dishes are plant-based with all their drinks being non-alcoholic. Mai, the server, was welcoming and warm making my experience even more wonderful. Looking forward to coming back again!
Healthy light and flavorful. I like half of the pieces and the other half I feel like really lacked creativity. Some topics felt like I was just eating salsa. It was nothing super special. I wish they added more of the toppings as well. Maybe some warm pieces would be nice. Everything is cold. The fried fish was good, fried chicken was not. It was a good experience overall. Staff could be better trained. I wish they told us which pieces were what so we can know what we are eating. We had to ask for water etc. We didn't get plates either... They were friendly but they just werent well trained I think.
So great! Easy to order and pickup, although the lot in front is quite small so I'm not sure if patrons dining in have had any issues. 3 boxes is a fair amount for 3 people, and it's best to go with others so you can try a variety of their pressed sushi. Our favourites were the portobello, short rib, pumpkin, and smoke salmon. All the flavors were distinct and we couldn't tell they were plant-based proteins like tuna, salmon, short rib. The cilantro cucumber sauce was our favourite sauce! The one issue we had was with the fresh mix veggie sushi - the veg is chopped so finely and easily fell off the rice as there's no sauce to keep it together. That being said, we were very happy with the meal and would love to return!
Took sushi home to eat, but wow it is so tasty! My favourite is the eggplant one. I could not believe the "fish" is plant based? I thought it was salmon but remembered the restaurant is vegan, so I was very confused. It tastes like fish texture. I will need to try it again and closely analyze how they made this. Staff is very kind, and the space is cute and intimate. I was quite full after the omakase set. Love this place! My fav are the vegan salmon and the eggplant. I could eat those all day non-stop. Drooling just thinking about it. Love the idea of black rice instead of white rice too. I'm allergic to alcohol so I love how they have non-alcoholic drinks! The atmosphere is calming and relaxing. I can't wait to go back.
WOW!! so fresh and tasty, love the use of whole food plant based ingredients. 10/10 gourmet presentation, it was like art! Also VERY tasty. I got the C-cofu platter which was a great way to try 4 different kinds of sushi and 2 sauces and the fried “chicken”-not pictured which was also amazing! Very cute, little quaint restaurant with very friendly staff who care about providing a lovely experience. Oh and green tea was very high quality.
Found this place by word of mouth and it was incredible. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is calm. Most importantly, the food was creative and delicious! Cofu is incredibly unique and inspired, and worth visiting often. Their sauces are flavour explosions - make use of them!
The food here is amazing and delicious! We couldn't even choose a favorite, although the salmon and eggplant sushi were both great. However we had a poor experience with the customer service. We had to re-ask ask for water after our food came, and for refills afterwards. The staff disappeared into the back for long periods of time, so we and people at the table next to us were waiting a while to pay our bills. Despite this we will still be back because the food was so good.
10/10 Everything is amazing. This is my first time trying vegan sushi and it blew my mind on how delicious veggie sushi can be. The store is so cute, clean, with great ambience. The owner is so kind and warm. I would 100% recommend anyone to try this experience if you are in Vancouver
