Good Place if you feel like sukiyaki and wagyu beef. Is it worth paying $98/person? You can decide, but I think it’s worth going to try at least once, not a place I would visit often. The restaurant knows how much you can eat and since wagyu is fatty, there is only so much you can eat, so while the menu makes “unlimited” sound attractive, it’s really limited to the capacity of your tummy and it’s not as much as you think it is. The Australian Kobe Beef that you can only get 1 platter of with the $98/person menu - that beef was good and it melts in your mouth. Right now because it’s Chinese New Year, you get $10 off on the $98/person menu. Nothing special with the rest of the beef, veggy, etc. Desserts were all good and service was good, staff were thorough with their explanation. It was quiet when we went today, so all the staff were available.
The parking here is so crammed there's almost no space for people to get out of the cars... The restaurant is well decorated and much smaller than I expected. The food was OK not amazing but I feel like the $80 per person wasn't really worth it. I liked the quality of the beef though! But for the price, I could get some good quality meat at a regular hotpot place for probably the same price. Would recommend to try it for yourself once.
Came to BC for the first time and decided eat here with 3 friends for dinner at around 7:15 PM. The restaurant is stunning with very modern decorations and beautiful interior design. The hotpot portion had great broth flavors and good selection meats, with 6 choices and wagyu beef being one of them. Their takoyaki and aburi/torched sushi was amazing. Did not care for their Fuzzy Wuzzy roll nor Kyu Gaa roll as they were basic rolls you can get any where. Their Jellyfish Salad contained shark fin see picture, and I was pleasantly surprised because not very many places serve shark fin. The service started off great; everyone was attentive and very fast. The restaurant started getting busy at around 8:30 PM and the service slowed down a little as a result definitely not their fault, as they were understaffed. We had their desserts, kinako ice cream vanilla ice cream with condensed milk drizzle, frosted flakes and soy powder, matcha ice cream and their chef's special matcha tiramisu; all of which were small portioned but very good. I recommend ordering doubles or even triples. A couple of reasons why I gave 2 star rating. 1. The amount of sashimi is pre-determined by the amount of guests with 7 pieces per person as seen on the menu in the pictures. We had a total of 28 pieces which were displayed very nicely on a bed of ice. However, they were cut very thin and were not fresh. I expected more quality or quantity for the price. 2. They did not have any king oyster mushroom or enoki mushroom in their self-serve veggie bar. Our server claimed they had ran out in the previous day and were not able to restock for the day, which was very disappointing considering the cost to eat here. Upon leaving the building, my friend and I scanned the hectic and busy environment and saw other customers carrying both mushrooms from the veggie bar to their table. It turns out that most of the other patrons were paying $98 per head and included "more food options" according to another server. Felt like they were implying we needed to pay for more, even though the $78 menu we had was supposed include these items. This place could be good for the rare or special occasion. But in my opinion, the expense of $78 per person is not worth it, especially being this was my first time here. You're better off eating at Happy Lamb for half the cost and double the selection of items.
No Tuesday promotion 50% off for ladies anymore. New menu is introduced, I uploaded here if you want to see. Quality of food is not as good as before. For example, in tuna avocado salad, they used chopped raw cabbage instead of fresh lettuce. It is hard and tasteless. The table is very small, not enough room for appetizer, agemono, vegetables from the bar and hot pot itself. With this price and quality of food, I won’t come back in the near future.
A solid Japanese hotpot restaurant offering a decent variety of cooked side dishes and hotpot ingredients. This location is worth considering if you have a larger than average budget or are just craving sukiyaki. If the review was helpful, please follow and/or like for more! Service: 3/5 The service was hit-or-miss at this restaurant. We were seated and offered drinks promptly. But as the night dragged on and restaurant started to fill, it felt like they were struggling to keep up with demand. Sometimes, we had to wait 5-6 minutes to flag down a server. A quirk is that the servers at this restaurant all wear maid uniforms, never seen this before except at themed cafes. Food: 3/5 We got the pricier AYCE menu that offers unlimited "wagyu" meats which is just American wagyu, prime, flank, etc for $78/person. The menu includes a plate of sashimi for everyone at the table. Overall, I ate my fill of the side-dishes such as salmon-avocado bowl and the aburi sushi. The hotpot itself was alright, but not much to set itself apart from what I've had elsewhere. So, they use the chemical wax to heat up the hotpots. This makes them look cool and you don't need a chunky conduction stove installed on each table. The downside is the solid wax burns out, they refill it with a liquid version that sent me sneezing up the River Styx. COVID: 4/5 They checked for vaccine passports and IDs. Tables were sufficiently spaced out into booths and servers all wore full PPE's.
The interior looks nice. The servers wear a maid outfit, I assume it’s to enact a sense of Japanese culture. You are able to get the vegetables for yourself so you won’t have to ask for replenishment of vegetables. The meat is portioned nicely as it allows you to feel as if you’re eating numerous pieces as you have your buffet. It’s also entertaining to watch the waiter refuel your soup base when the fire goes out. It’s definitely worth the time to visit if you want to try a different kind of eating environment.
I don’t feel the food selection and quality are = $78 per person. My miso soup base are bad, and the sashimi is only two pieces per person, and the service have talk too much… Parking are terrible and we are need to go street pay park!
Went here last week and enjoyed the $78, includes sashimi platter, sushi, 6 kinds of meats, and desserts. Spot prawn was the best and re-ordered a couple plates of chef's choice. The sushi taste super nice which really exceeded my expectations. The most attractive part is the $20 off during lunch time and the free private parking!!
Japanese all you can eat restaurant, has different menu to choose, we had $58 which is good enough. Broadway is under construction, their back yard parking space is very limited, better come early to secure a space. Menu includes shabushabu, three kind of meat and veggies unlimited order. Also has sashimi, sushi, side dishes, and desert, beside sashimi, other items are all you can eat, you better have a big stomach for that
Overall, a bit disappointed with the experience. I visited there at Thursday night with 3 friends for birthday celebration. It's our first time to dinning there and we heard the restaurant may has special promotions so that we asked about birthday offers. Unfortunately, the discount only available for more than 5 people then 1 person get free. Which is totally understandable and fine. However, our server didn't notify us which option is not available at the moment. So after we all get $78 set then been told that Oden is not provided when we want to order. Wagu, appetizers, and sushi were great, but only a few options for vegetables. The environment is fancy but has many food flys when we got our table. The washroom is big but a bit smelly.
