Cocodak

This used to be a branch of Mon Ami but the owners went out on their own and reopened as Cocodak. It has the same menu as before and it is still as delicious as I remember. The chicken is super crunchy and flavourful with that beautiful soy garlic glaze. The staff and warm and friendly.

Super good food and friendly staff! It was pretty busy for a Monday night but we decided to give it a try. The portions were good for the prices. There were also a couple of vegetarian options and one vegan options which was the bibimbap with tofu. And a couple of vegetarian/vegan entree options! Everything we had was delicious and flavourful, the only thing was that the food wasn’t as spicy as we were expecting. We ordered tofu bibimbap, vegetable pancake, sweet and spicy dumplings, seaweed and glass noodle rolls, and something with baby octopus! I would definitely come again because the service was so kind and food was extremely delicious!

Very friendly staff. The menu has many choices of dishes, there is something for everyone. It was hard to decide because there were so many things to discover but we finally decided on Korean fried chicken and a Korean crepe. The dishes are served with side dishes like marinated kimchiy daikon.

Overall good Korean food and service! The Tofu stew was the best thing we had!! Flavourful and very soft Tofu. The bibambap wasn't in a hot stone bowl so the rice wasn't crispy : tteokbokki was just okay. Prices are reasonable! Overall will come back to try the fried chicken!

It was my first time ordering from this place! The Spicy rice cakes are tasty. However, the quantity I received for the price paid is unfortunately not worth the money : I am all about supporting local businesses and times are hard, but this applies to customers too! They spend their hard-earned money on a warm plate of comfort food. This wasn't it Unfortunately, I will not reorder.

Really good authentic Korean food!! Really like the fact they served Banchan as part of the meal. We got the regular fried chicken as well as the bibim naengmyeon and the Sundubu-jjigae. The fried chicken was nice and juicy but it lacked a little flavour, for the bibim naengmyeon, I wasn’t a particular fan of it but my friend really liked it. The Sundubu-jjigae was definitely my favourite part of the meal. Great flavours, spices and texture! Overall a really solid Korean place in Montreal.

→ We've tried haemul pajeon seafood pancake and jjukkumi samgyeopsal spicy baby octopus and pork belly. The pancake was served hot as well as so crispy and flavorful. The spicy baby octopus and pork belly was extremely large for sharing, serving with a lot of dumplings, tteokbokki and veggies. It was quite spicy for us since there was too much gojuchang added. Therefore, it took us a while to finish all. Overall it was quite good but not impressed us. For the food itself, we would like to give 3.8/5.0. If we come to Cocodak again, maybe we will try the fried chicken. → For us, the decoration was average and out of Korean vibe. The price was a little bit high since we did not really enjoy our meal. However, the staffs were friendly and helpful. For the overall dining experience at Cocodak, we would like to give 3.5/5.0.

What happened to this place? Maybe new administration? then I’d say you’re not doing it right. I used to order from them once in a while because I liked their food. But what I got tonight was just unacceptable. Sauce tasted different, chicken was dry, and the portion was way smaller than it used to be. Can you believe those two foods are from the same restaurant? Wouldn’t order again.

The food is really delicious, the staff is nice and kind. We really love their place and I’m never disappointed when coming!
