A nice Korean-Japanese fusion restaurant that has a straight to the point menu with a few items such as rice bowls, noodles, soups, salads and fried stuff. Food was heavy but very tasty and the portions were big next time I’ll order more veggies. The ambiance is fast-paced and quite loud because the restaurant is pretty small. There are about only a dozen tables, so a reservation is needed if you don’t want to wait in line.
A small restaurant with fantastic Korean food! It is full of people even for workday. Egg is sweet and soft and sauce is sweet and spicy. The cheese inside sweet spicy soup create an amazing taste! The beef is also fresh and well cooked! Highly recommend!
I loved their beef udon. It was exactly what I needed on a cold winter day. The beef was super tender and delicious, it went well with the broth which added an extra rich flavour. The okonomiyaki was interesting, I was curious since it had udon noodle in it. I still would preferred yakisoba instead of udon, but it was pretty good nonetheless. The chicken katsu with chicken wasn’t what I imagined, it was a bit blend and wasn’t as crunchy. This doesn’t change the fact that I’ll be back to try their other dishes. Highly recommand!
→ Came here after seeing a Tiktok vid. My bf and I had tteokbokki yaki udon, bulgogi dolsot, and cheese chicken katsu. Everything was absolutely well prepared and tasty. The tteokbokki yaki udon was served with a lot of toppings fish cake, mozzarella, flat dumpling, korokke, soft boiled egg. It was the first time I ate korokke and it had an interesting flavor, which was so soft and creamy inside but crunchy outside. The tteokbokki sauce was also really good. The bulgogi dolsot was served hot and flavorful. But it reminded me of Gyu-kaku's beef sukiyaki bibimbap and I thought I loved that one more. The cheese chicken katsu was amazing, but should be gone with the sauce as always to achieve taste balance in your mouth. → The price was reasonable. The staffs were cool, nice and welcoming. For me, Jako was 4.3/5.0. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Very good place for a quick Japanese/Korean fix! The decor and vibe are quite nice. The karage were nice and crispy but still moist inside cooked to perfection and the Chipotle sauce was *chefs kiss*. My go-to had always been the katsu and it never disappoints. The udon bulgogi was a bit too salty for my liking and the tempura donburi was a bit bland. The highlight and my all time favorite has been the okonomiyaki. Very well made and tasted so good! Parking: Street parking available but metro is also very close by.
The restaurant was really good. Booking is recommended as they’re usually full. The food was delicious. We had the bulgogi udon and chicken katsu curry. The udon was a 10/10, and the katsu curry was an 8/10. The staff was really cool and friendly. It’s an Asian fusion with a good ambiance. The tables are a bit compact though. I would definitely come here again and recommend to friends.
It was a busy Friday night and we did not have reservations, but they were happy to accommodate us with no issue. Service was really fast and great; our waiter was really friendly and approachable. The food was equally amazing - the chicken katsu is nice and thick unlike other places. We're already thinking of what to get the next time we go!
It's my second time going and the food is always to die for. The staff is also very sweet. Because it is a small restaurant, I suggest reserving beforehand. Definitely give this place a chance!
You have to reserve before coming so we reserved two hours before arriving at 6pm on a Friday night. Service is great and fast.. The food is good but I was expecting more variety in their menu like the previous resto that was in its place, it was still good . I got the kalbi udon soup, it was good and spicy. Their karagi chicken was good.
Important : book before going because it’s going to be full ! The restaurant is delicious and worth going for the price ! Still kinda miss the old ganadara tbh, but this one is totally a new favorite. The portions are generous, the service is nice and the music is not too loud, which is so good compared to the majority of bars-restaurant places in Montreal !
