I enjoy watching movies at Cineplex, but there are a couple of things that really need improvement.nFor movies that are longer than 3 hours, Cineplex should provide at least a 5-minute intermission. Instead, movies often start 15 to 20 minutes late because of ads and trailers. That time could be used much better as a short break during the movie so people can use the washroom and stretch without missing important scenes.nAnother issue is the washroom sinks. They still use push-type faucets that feel like ancient technology. You have to keep pressing with one hand just to get water, which makes it difficult to wash both hands properly. Almost every other public washroom has moved to touchless faucets, which are far more hygienic and convenient.nThese are small changes, but they would greatly improve the overall experience, especially for long movies. I hope Cineplex considers this feedback.
It is a nice theatre. Lots of free and convenient parking. Some halls are quite small.nWhen I went there, I was the only person in my movie hall. It started a little earlier than usual. So less ads probably.nI had ordered food online, but it wasn’t ready for pickup. The person at the counter quickly made it for me because it wasn’t very crowded but I had to wait for it.
We went to Cineplex to watch The Conjuring: Last Rites and were extremely disappointed. The closed captioning devices we were given didn’t work at all during the entire movie. The staff simply handed them to us and told us to keep them in the seat pocket no proper setup, no follow-up, and no concern shown once the movie started. It was very frustrating since we couldn’t walk out in the middle of the film to get help. For a major theatre chain like Cineplex, this level of neglect in accessibility and customer support is unacceptable.nnWe expect Cineplex to ensure their assistive devices are tested and working before handing them to guests.
The lovely concessions gal working last night Nov 24 @ 6pm was completely delightful. I’m sorry that I did not catch her name… We walked to our theatre discussing how refreshingly wonderful she was.
I went to watch Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle English version in IMAX at Cineplex Odeon Eglinton Town Centre, expecting the large-scale, vibrant experience that IMAX is supposed to deliver. Unfortunately, what I got was far from it.nFrom the very beginning, I could tell something was wrong. The Tron: Ares trailer that played before the movie had a strange yellow tint instead of its signature red visuals. Even the Crunchyroll intro, which is normally bright orange, looked dull and yellow. Once the movie started, the same issue continued – the entire screen had a heavy yellow tint, making everything look washed out and unnatural. Characters who should have clear, vivid colors looked dull, and the overall picture quality felt nothing like what the trailers and promotional material showcased.nnWhen I raised this issue with the manager, she admitted that they didn’t know much about the quality and said they were simply playing the print provided. She also mentioned there “could be a problem” and that they would raise it to IMAX/Cineplex’s main office. She gave me a refund, but what was frustrating is that it seems the theatre was aware of the problem yet still continued playing the movie in this poor condition for paying customers.nnThe bigger issue here is that Cineplex is marketing these showings as IMAX, but what we’re actually getting at this location feels like a downgraded version. After checking, it looks like this theatre is still using older IMAX Xenon projectors, which cannot reproduce the brightness and full color range of IMAX Laser. That would explain the dim, yellowish image. Other fans who watched in true IMAX Laser or Dolby confirmed that the movie has vibrant, sharp, and accurate colors – nothing like what we got here.nnFor the premium price Cineplex charges for IMAX tickets, customers deserve transparency. If a theatre doesn’t have proper IMAX Laser projectors, Cineplex should make that clear instead of selling it under the same “IMAX” branding. Right now, it feels misleading – we’re paying for IMAX quality, but only getting the name.nnVery disappointed with this experience. I hope Cineplex and IMAX take this seriously and fix it, because fans expect a premium viewing experience, not a flawed, washed-out version of one of the most anticipated anime films.
