The price to portion size/taste/novelty was on point. The dogs are as advertised. Great cheese pull on the squid ink dog. Great crunch on the ramen dog. The suggestion on the menu that sugar makes it better was 100% correct. The sauces were not overpowering. It was nice to have freshly made, crispy on the outside soft on the inside rice dogs, and the wait was only 10 min. One dog is big enough for a small meal - neither my wife nor I finished the two each that we bought. Check it out!
I have been to a few different branches of Chungchun and they were all amazing! The staff and variety of options are really good and very affordable as a snack or even heavy lunchtime meal. This particular location was not too busy and the workers were helpful in deciding sauce and seasoning combinations for the corndogs. I would definitely return! The only thing that seemed slightly off was that there was a slight gasoline type smell/taste that some of the corndogs had but it may have just been a late night/end of day fluke.
I am addicted to chungchun rice dogs. I eat them for lunch or dinner, sometimes both. My favourites are the potato and original. The cheese filled ones are great too - only if my tummy is feeling brave. I always get butter garlic powder, sweet chili, and spicy mayo as toppings. The pineapple juice I tried once and it was super sweet and refreshing however pricey considering the volume. Only minor downside is the wait time is sometimes pretty lengthy. It is a popular spot and each order takes more that a few minutes. I will never stop coming here.
Food was a fun experience! It was yummy BUT, not anything more than what I expected. It was roughly 5 to 10 bucks for a hotdog, so it's average for cost. The food felt a bit heavy and greasy, but overall it was good! I had a lot of fun eating it, but I don't think I'll be going again anytime soon. It's more of a "once in a while" place for me I think. Small shop, no seating and all the outdoor benches are in horrible shape. Service was a tad slow, but its made fresh so who can really complain. I'd rather fresh and slower than gross and quick.
Has always been great any time I came. It may surprise you how filling these are as I always try to consider it a snack but end up full! Add the spicy mayo sauce on your corn dog and ask for it on the side as well, you will not regret it. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the options, I have personally stuck to the half mozzarella or whole mozzarella with potato toppings.
If you like corndogs, you'll love Chungchun. I was initially a little hesitant mostly because I'm a weenie, but in the end it was very enjoyable. The quality of the food is high, and the portion sizes are HUGE for the price I ordered two for myself, but definitely could have gotten away with one. Now that I know what the food is like, I think I'm going to adjust my order next time - mozza is definitely the way to go over cheddar! My only recommendation would be to add a savoury mustard to the selection!
A good spot to score some Korean Hot Dogs. They have mostly beef/pork options but a few Chicken/Vegetarian options. They have unique toppings; sauces & seasoning options which improve the flavors of the Rice Hot Dogs from the outside. The only problem is that 1 isn't filling and 2 is TOOOO much. I didn't find their sausage inside really flavorful, tho the batter with toppings, sauces and seasoning was pretty amazing. The place is situated in a huge plaza so great parking around the area, they don't have a sitting area inside the restaurant. Wouldn't really go here again but for someone who hasn't tried Korean Hot Dogs before & craving something greasy/unhealthy, they should do it once.
Small Korean hotdog place by the university. No dine-in, and the place is always packed. The food is pretty good. They've got a vegetarian option, which I found to be below average as far as vegetarian food goes. The biggest plus points for this place are the different varieties, seasonings, and sauces they offer. Price is decent too. Vegetarian options: If you're a vegetarian, you will have eaten much better vegetarian food than this hot dog. The actual vegetarian filling was not good.
Definitely a novelty of a meal/snack. But the hotdogs are made well at a decent price. Lots of options for the types of hotdogs, as well as for the seasoning and sauces that you can try. Biggest gripe is that there is no place to sit and eat inside. However, there are some old picnic tables outside.
Yes yes yes! Tons of flavor! Beautiful and tasty! 100% would recommend the potato corn dog and original. They are freshly made to order. It was super packed but only had to wait about 10 mins for our order. So that was awesome. Atmosphere was a bit cramped inside but it flowed eventually. Overall I would go again!
