I have returned to eat here several times and their fried chicken will never cease to amaze me. It is pretty pricey, but their portions are good, great flavour, juicy, crispy skin, and not salty! It also comes with a small side of pickled radish which is always nice as well. C1 fried crispy chicken and C3 half & half chicken are my go-tos. I tried the spicy rice cake with noodles before but it was mediocre, I wonder if their dishes aside from their fried chicken is also about the same. The restaurant is ran by an elderly Korean couple and I find the art of both of them on the menus and such really sweet.
Loved the food here, I never knew the Chicken here was so crispy yet the meat was tender as can be, The spicy squid was also quite surprisingly good, I really had to come around to liking Korean food and this place just had the right touch, just give it a try :Recommended dishesKorean Fried Chicken
I bought just the small Korean fried crispy boneless chicken takeout for 17.99+tax and it tasted good. Gave some dip with it which I didn't understand what it is and spit out. Honestly, I didn't like it and not my type. They should have kept the option to take it or not. As you can see in the image, it is just crispy chicken with a sweet and sour seasoning. Overall, the 6 pic boneless chicken was yummy but not a 5 star spot.
After reading the reviews here my experience has been completely different. - about 6pcs chicken that are bone dry, barely any flavor, no sauce on side apparently they don't give, and set us back 16.99 - the tofu and seafood soup barely had any seafood. A few mussels, couple of tiny squids, and at he end found a tiny dry shrimp. Taste was so bare, I was desperate for salt/pepper/lime juice...anything that could make the meal edible. Cleanliness of the dishes, and entire place was close to disgusting, we so felt like just pay and walk out.
Excellent food! Been here a couple times now and the food always tastes great! Service however, is a bit lacking and very cold. As long as you do not expect much in terms of service, it is a great dining experience!
I had the C2 seasoned fried chicken and it was absolutley delicious. The small could easily serve 2 but I ate nearly all of it because it was so juicy and flavourful! Definately try it out.
Fair price and good portions. We got the half and half and only liked the original fried chicken. Personally, I found the seasoned chicken to be too sweet. Food was also ready within 20 minutes and was made to order.
In my opinion this place is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. It is not a good representation of Korean food. I ordered the pork bone soup and seafood pancake and they were both disgusting. I’m from a Korean family on my mother’s side and I also lived and worked in Korea for a long time and that’s probably the worst Korean food I’ve ever had-anywhere. Do not go there. The cabbage in the pork bones soup tasted rotten so I had to actually spit it out. The soup did not include potato at all which the soup is a potato soup and the meat tasted very dry and the rice had a weird aftertaste to it which is very unusual and the seafood pancake did not stick together and the seafood tasted not fresh and the dipping sauce that we usually eat with it was not correct. The side dishes were extremely tiny amounts-I’m talking like three pieces of kimchi and when I left to be polite and take the leftover pancakes the lady gave me a cup which made the act of taking things politely even harder because it made it disgusting to put the pancakes falling apart in a cup and so I spent almost $50 hoping that this would be good and satisfying and I feel like it was the worst $50 spent ever and I wasted my time and I bet the owners don’t even eat the food that they make. The chicken that they tout as being amazing and famous is also not a good representation of Korean food. I even had to go somewhere and get like a dessert to get the taste out of my mouth. It’s a shame because this area needs more good Korean food. Do not recommend at all.
Despite the price, this is hands down the best Korean fried chicken I’ve ever had. It’s surprisingly light and juicy. The skin is really crispy too. The pickled radish that it comes with adds a nice touch as well. Highly recommend trying their fried chicken.
Such tasty authentic Korean fried chicken and probably my favourite for within Waterloo. They also have nice staff too. The half and half is my forever go to when choosing to dine here. The chicken tastes really fresh with a nice crispy even coating around every piece!
