Having visited on both weekdays and weekends, quality and service has been consistently on point - the staff will recommend some drinks if you want a bit of help deciding and they brew your tea when you order, so you can really taste the tea flavours in their drinks. Their toppings are always fresh; hands down the best bubble/pearl/boba consistency and flavour you can find in the city. They have a succinct popular/recommended drinks menu, but you also have the option to customize your own drink. My go-to if I'm craving for bubble tea.
I don't understand why we had such a bad experience. I've heard so many good things about this place. We were so excited because it's from Taiwan. We were unhappy right when we walked in. We weren't greeted, and it took us a while to find the menus. All the staff 4 ignored us and only spoke minimally to explain the menu. Their drinks were extremely small, and they literally filled the drink to the brim with ice. The lid design was horrible and it was hard to insert the straw. We ended up getting cream all over our shirts because the lid kept on flapping. The topping was nice, but I will never pay $17 for 2 drinks. Until someone takes me here to get a better experience, I'm never coming back.
Probably one of the top 3 bubble tea places I have tried in Vancouver. Their quality is top notch and they have these machines that force the water thru the tea leaves to quickly extract the flavors, brewing each cup freshly when you order. The only downside is the price and the size of the cups. They only come in one size and the price is about $8 per cup at the time of writing this review. If they had larger cup size options that would be great. Would have been a 5 star from me, but it's just hard to justify the price for such a small cup. This location does not have much seating, a couple tables outside and that is about it. Definitely a take out or to go location.
Top notch bubble tea. Delicious and most importantly it makes my wife happy. So 5 stars for you! Hahaha but seriously the sweetness in the tea is perfect because it doesn’t mask the whole drink from the tea flavour. The creaminess and sugar in the volcano drink is perfect. The salty sour harmony in the lemon wonderland brings out the natural sweetness in the lemon used.
They are BREWING THE very high quality TEA just in front of you, to add it to the bubble tea of your choice. Wow, the taste is premium! Very rich flavour. I took one tea and forgot to make a picture - finished it very fast. So i got the second one straightaway. Ps: try mousse topping
Milk tea taste not good, a lot of black tea. Fruit tea is really good but unfortunately, you are not allowed to add pearls. I put only two stars just for fruit tea. Also, there's no place to sit and it's quite messy inside the store.
This bubble tea is unusual. They brew tea fresh like coffee espresso. You can taste the tea from the bubble tea. I would recommend this if you love tea over the milk. The portion is smaller than other places with same place, but this place relies on quality over quantity. It would be one of my top bubble tea places.Food: 5/5
Came during weekday lunch hour. Minimal wait, friendly staff that took the time to explain their teas & philosophy. Immediately upon walking in, the aromatics of the teas are very prominent. Your BBT is literally prepped fresh to order. Staff carefully weighing out the tea leaves, then follow up w/ brewing it using their unique espresso looking machine. Ordered the Bubble Milk Tea black tea with less ice and less sugar. The black tea was very aromatic and pronounced. The pearls were also chewy and fresh. I really enjoyed it. We also ordered a Lemon Wonderland which was also fairly decent. Very authentic Taiwan tea vibes. Would return to try the other flavours. Give them a try!
One of my favorite tea places because the tea is high quality, and fragrant and they use real milk instead of powdered creamer. The tapioca pearls are very fresh and not overly hard. Downsides are that it’s a bit pricey 7-8 per drink, the menu has a smaller selection, and you cannot make customizations to many of their drinks - toppings may be preset and no additions or changes allowed. There also isn’t seating inside the shop.
As someone who doesn’t particularly choose bubble tea as his first-choice desert/beverage, you can imagine my surprise when I was first introduced to Chicha San Chen. The taste and quality significantly trumps any and all bubble tea experiences I’ve had to date. While the taste is important, I greatly appreciate top-class customer service and always choose to recognize it when done right! One staff member in particular, Dave, went above and beyond for my partner and I every time we would visit. He always greets us with a big smile, accommodates our every preference and most importantly, would educate us with the differences of each product they have to offer. Kudos to you, Dave! A product is only as good as the people who represent it; this 5-star review is to reflect your ongoing commitment to excellence. I know I speak for my girlfriend and I when I say: we’ll see you soon!
