It’s been over 5 years since we last visited and it was just as good as I remembered it if not better. Really cozy classic atmosphere with great service from start to end. Don’t expect anything fancy here just an awesome traditional Rotisserie Chicken Meal served quick, hot and fresh for a very reasonable price. The Chicken was juicy and well cooked, the coleslaw was perfect, the fries were amazing and the sauce was piping hot and delicious too. No complaints at all when dining in here so I’d highly recommend anyone to give them a try as we’ll definitely return again ourselves next time we visit Montreal
Gravy and sandwich were really quite good. With that said and not really relevant to the food - but the paper bag was incredibly high quality. I don't know who is printing these or for how much - but the colours are vibrant and extremely clean. It's the little details that really help make a restaurant stay in one's memory.
First time here after driving by this place for over 25 years. Finally got a chance to check it out and the food didn't disappoint. The fries, chicken and gravy were tasty. But at the end of the day it's still rotisserie chicken and can only be so good. The only thing that disappointed me was that I ordered 2 chicken breasts, a small fry and gravy, and my chicken came wrapped in clear plastic, which I have never seen before.. I have concerns about having hot chicken directly wrapped this way, as some of the chemicals from the plastic can leech onto the hot chicken. My friend however got his food in an aluminum container with paper top pretty standard which would have made more sense.
This place is mega iconic.. the only points taken off is for the seating which felt cramped. The chicken is exquisite and nobody beats it... There is a reason they've been in business for almost 80 yearsFood: 5/5
Great price for a chicken leg bbq platter to go. Simple, tasty, great value for your money. Quick pickup from the side door. Best of all, easy parking in the back of the resto. An NDG classic for sure Parking: They have a big parking in the back of the restaurant. Definitely an asset in the city for sure.
Epic fries and bbq sauce. Cole slaw felt extremely fresh. Happy to have finally visited this institution for the first time! I still prefer Portuguese Chicken though. The staff is great, the gentleman that took my order was really patient and accommodating when I told him for how many people. Parking: Large Lot available on the side entrance Decarie?
This was a must try for my Montreal visit. The best way to describe the entire dining experience is CLASSIC. The restaurant is cozy, reminds me of the 70's. The servers were accomodating, excellent customer service. As for the meal. I had a tiny glass of water. After the meal it was still full because I pretty much dipped every bite chicken or fries into the chalet sauce. Emptied both ramekins of sauce. Overall, enjoyed the meal. You will get a full plate of fries and a very large side dish of slaw.
I love the chicken breast, chicken sandwich, and the fries! The gravy makes everything so delicious. And don’t forget to try the chicken noodle soup!Recommended dishesBBQ Chicken, Chicken Breast Plate, Hot Chicken Sandwich, Frites
While the atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy, I was disappointed by non hospitable waitress. It would have been nice to feel more welcome and appreciated as a customer. Additionally, the food was not as crispy as I had hoped it would be, which was a bit of a letdown. However, I did enjoy the coleslaw, which had a great flavor and texture. Unfortunately, I didn't like for the sauce that came with the meal. Overall, while there were some positive aspects to my dining experience, the negatives outweighed them. I hope that the restaurant can improve its customer service and food preparation in the future, as I would be willing to give them another chance if they do.
Allergies beware! Extremely disappointed in the restaurants customer service. 1- we ordered over uber eats and we mentioned a peanut allergy and the restaurant proceeded to write a note saying there is a 99.99% chance that the oil is made with peanuts see photo for note but proceeded to make the food anyways. When we called to complain we were met with attitude. 2- we asked for utensils since we are at the hospital and they included 1 spoon for an order that had 2 soups, 1 chicken dinner and a poutine Dietary restrictions: Terrible with allergies
