Well maintained campsite with a good sani-station for RV water and sewer clean-out. Note the sani-dump is now a pay service that only takes coins, so have $6 in change available if you need this service. One serious drawback here is the total fire ban. Even propane fire pits are prohibited. If you like a fire you have to join the community fire located in each loop. Always great fishing at this lake. I landed several rainbows from shore at the day area, including a nice 12" fish. Most are in the 6-8" range. Lots of songbirds, geese and swans in the park. We also had two moose and many deer wander through. Some sites have vistas of the lake and surrounding hills, but look at the pics on the provincial booking site before reserving, as many sites have no view at all.
My favourite land on earth; I spend time here year round & it's always worth the drive. Being in the water in the summer, or on the ice in the winter; it's a beautiful place to be. Can be busy; but the park still contains space for the many critters roaming it's surrounding hills. Moose, elk, weasels, eagles, ravens, bears and many other wonderful creatures call this area home. The fresh water in this area has been and is still being fought for; with passionate folk doing doing best to protect this pristine land and water from coal projects. If you're spending time at the lake, summer or winter, please be respectful. Loud music & litter is detrimental to all the delightful lives scattered in the woods; and other people.
Nice clean and quite place, only thing it does not have a free dump station, so make sure to have some coins handy and it doesn't have fire pits as well as propane fire pits are not allowed
Great campground, the only 2 things that I didn't like were, the fact that you had to pay to dump your tanks $6. And not the parks fault, but the idiot who must have let their kids play with the truck keys and kept making the horn honk. Very annoyed with them.
Lots of room for pinic has a camp ground,Washrooms, boat launch. Not sure about the swimming part but I would guess yes.
My first time being there, was a great experience! The lake was clean, calm and nice to do some fishing
Beautiful small lake close to Calgary. Due to the vicinity to the city it can be very crowded in the weekends but almost empty and great place to enjoy during weekdays. Camp sites are private and large enough to accommodate big groups. Water is warm enough for swimming and tranquil to paddle boarding even if you are a beginner.
Great place to spend a day. Only an hour and a bit away from Calgary. Spent the day kayaking.
Nice place to stop for a picnic. Table by the lake and above it. Toilet pit in good condition. Is also boat launching area.
It was OK! Not breath taking, certainly not the most beautiful place that I have been. The lake view was good but it was small and relatively crowded. There is cookhouse there that is cash only. Restrooms are free, don't have water but are relatively clean considering that it is middle of nowhere.
