Campground common areas are well maintained, wood was dry and plentiful. No lake access as it is a "dead" lake. No where to cool off. Our campsite was gravel, thistles and wild rosebushes and directly in the sun, all day, no shade. The dog, toddler and grandma were baking in the full sun, Not conducive to tenting. Pet friendly environment, large playground structure.
Very clean place where the no service campsites were surprisingly large compared to some. You can get ice and wood at the manager's office... however the wood is really punky so it would be best to bring your own, at least to get a bed of coals if nothing else.
What a wonderful, little, hidden gem of a spot! Large, treed, sites.....well kept grounds, awesome firepits, and a perfect, little lake. Next time we will arrive earlier and stay longer to take advantage of some paddling!
We really loved this place. Quiet and quaint. Great amenities. We stayed in the group camp area with friends of ours.
Been going here for year's! Very friendly staff, well kept and clean. Very family oriented place for camping!
The campground is very clean and well kept. Looks like most campsites are spaced out better than most. I'm in a non-serviced site which for me is perfect. I noticed last night that there wasn't anyone extending their generators past quiet time and no loud music...yes people were chatting but it didn't stop me from sleeping. There's only one small minor issue and that is the wood I bought was so punky, that it took me a whole bag just to get a decent fire. But note to self, I'll bring my own next time, which is allowed. Will I can't write a review without mentioning the manager, what an absolute sweet woman? Dorothy is the type of person you always want to be a campground manager. I have no doubt she wouldn't put up with any foolishness but still is right there to lend a hand! What a treat! Yes I'm sure I'll be back to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The visit to the lake was peaceful, a great escape of the busy life. Only 30 minutes or so from home, yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet sounds surrounding camping life. Each site had ample space for parking a vehicle and setting up a tent. Some spaces were keenly set up to receive RV/Trailers while others were just the right size for a tent. Every site included a picnic table, fire pit, parking space and cover. Some of the fire pits had built in grates for cooking on, while others were completely open. In the 60+ sites there were over 10 sites close to the water. My wife and I set up camp on site 65 and enjoyed a beautiful view of the water all day as well as a sensational sunset at night. The facilities were very well kept, and the sites were very clean as well. The facilitators were friendly and helpful. We would go again. The only negative would be the lack of access to the great body of water, steps away from our campsite, however that is not to any fault of the camp or its caretakers, it is due to the algae problem in AB. The camp includes a park for the kids, a badminton net, a basketball net and public washrooms with showers available. Enjoy from us. J+H
Majority of sites are large, enough for two vehicles and a trailer or two trailers and a vehicle. The park is a really good size for kids. Clean shower house, friendly and helpful staff. Lake is not swimable and it doesn't have a beach. At one time there was a boat launch and a sand beach, but the lake has receded. Only stayed two nights, but a really nice place that one could even stay on a two week basis or monthly. Small campsite, not overwhelmingly busy.
Friendly people. A decent amount of trees in most sites. Sites are pretty close together as per usual. Sparse trees on the lakeside tent sites. Apparently you can't fish or swim in the lake because it's a bird sanctuary. Leashed dog friendly. Friendly staff. Washroom was clean. Wood sold on site. Lots of kids to play with at the park. Lots of kids riding bicycles. 27 min drive from Beaumont
Although this place is very clean and the people who work here are friendly, we had many issues staying here for two nights. We bought fire wood and 70% of it had mold on it, our neighbours were partying until 3 am screaming and singing and although they had one warning at 11pm, nobody came and told them to shut it down. This is supposed to be family oriented campground. As well we had the intention of being able to visit the lake but it turns out it's a slough instead and the water was just there to look at.
