What a special place for our kids first experience. Amazing staff. Zack picked us a great lot & we felt like family from the treatment we received from Marthe & Linda. I sell trailers so I will be telling everyone their 1st time out needs to be here. And being from the Hospitality industry previously, the customer service was above and beyond. Congrats to the owner!!
So much activities going on for kids and adults. Lots to do, or just sit and chill by your fire pit, swim in the pool or the lake, the kids can enjoy the playground. There's even a couple of pokestops for pokemon go players.
Very family oriented place. Washrooms are the most clean I ever saw. Staff is amazing.
Had several wonderful weekends at Cadar Shade. Very well-maintained, clean and inviting environment. A hidden gem amongst parks.
Like this place for the people and activities you can do.. makes me forget the 1000 flies I killed in my screen kitchenette during my month I stayed .. love the hot tub, I should be back..
Great location and lots of activities for families. Staff is snippy and parking is a nightmare *** Edited to add: this original review was from years ago. Since then, I've seen the campground make so many amazing memories for my niece and nephew. It's busy and crowded, but also peaceful and quiet... believe me, I don't know how, but it's true! I'm not a fan of how much it costs to come visit my sister for a day. I understand a fee is necessary, but for example, I don't swim or use any of the amenities... but my kids do. So maybe a carload fee? Also, it would be nice to be able to visit my sister more often, without always having to pay, especially since I live 3min away. She pays her dues as a resident of the park, so she feels like she'd like to get her money's worth... totally understandable! But if I want to see her, I have to also pay? This is just my personal opinion :
Nice. I was visiting just for the day and enjoyed. The downside is I was the only visitor not allowed to put the car inside. More than that, they directed me to park on the road, out of the camping, even with a big empty parking lot inside.
Great staff really fun place to bring kids to play in the pool and other stuff. Clean
Had an amazing week with my whole family. Kid friendly and lots of things to do. Would definitely recommend!
We are seasonal campers who started here in 2022, and the events of this past weekend demonstrated just how great this campground is. The storm happened Saturday, and inside the campground many of the cedar trees snapped on trailers, vehicles, decks and roads. It was a tough experience for everyone. Still, in this crisis, both camp staff and residents banded together to immediately start clearing and cleaning to restore the site. We helped each other Saturday, many returned Sunday to work, we helped each other with ice and freezer packs power went out, of course in the following days and many campers continued working on the restoration. If you ever want to find the best campground in our part of Ontario, rest assured this is the place. People in this campground pay for their sites, but they are engaged and proud, so much so that cleaning up the storm mess was something everybody wanted to do. Cedar Shade is more than a campground. It is a community.
