The park and camping experience could be amazing - but the late night music from Portofino Bay Restaurant that goes until well past 11pm is so loud that you feel like you have a front row seat to a concert. That and the lack of respect for (or enforcement of) quiet hours makes this a place that is not family friendly. Great camping if you're looking to party but not if you're looking to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Excellent camping spot. Tent and RV sites. Boat launch and beach. Very clean with nice bathroom and shower house.

They seem to condone people parading around in racist costumes. We were there during the Waterfest this year. Several members of a large (white) family led a "cowboys and indians" (their words) parade around the campgrounds wearing costumes that were racist stereotypes of Native Americans. I was a guest of one of the family members who did not participate in this. The several family members wearing the costumes did not respond to polite discourse so we made a complaint with the office. It seems no one was talked to and nothing was done. I won't be returning.
On another note, the women's bathroom frequently runs out of toilet paper and paper towels so remember to bring your own. Last year, there was feces in one of the showers. The hand dryers don't work and the managers refuse to fix them. There are four showers, one remains freezing cold and another is scalding hot. This year, I ended up with a bull's-eye rash from a tick bite and I'm being treated for Lyme disease. Not a pleasant experience.
