Canyon River Grill

A gem of a restaurant! We were seated right away, the wait staff was personable but not intrusive.We were well taken care of. Our food order was correct, rare steaks were rare, medium steaks were medium, and well-done was perfect. Everything ordered was fresh and plated well with great eye appeal. The scenery is gorgeous. The restaurant does not have that many tables so it is an intimate setting. The lodge like appearance makes the acoustics loud when the place is full. If you can only visit one restaurant in Ellensburg, make it Canyon River Grill.

The hostess was rude and we had such a bad vibe, that even though we drove 30 mins out of our way to go there, we left after waiting 10 minutes to be seated, and the restaurant was completely empty! Feel bad for the owners, and they should really encourage their staff to treat people kindly. After all they are in the service business!

The Canyon River Grill has only been open since 2013. but has already established itself as one of the best restaurants in the Ellensburg-Yakima area. I sat outside and enjoyed a sandwich as the sun was setting on a delightfully cool late September evening, right on the river, so this definitely added to the ambiance.

Beautiful restaurant. Beautiful scenery. Chef Jed has a great staff and is offering amazing food. This is a can't miss.
