Canadian Tire

I had 4 employees say hi to me with smiles and I was only there for 15mins. Got everything I needed pretty quickly. Store was easy to navigate and I found products were grouped well. Got to the line and there was at least 6-8 people in line. It really didn't take long and there was only one cashier and a couple people at the customer service desk. Also, my daughter is asking why the Canadian Tire logo is a strawberry.

Booked an appointment for a tire change. Spent over half an hour waiting in line just to get serviced, hence late for my appointment. 3.5 hours later I'm still at the store waiting to pick up my vehicle. Been in the line for another half an hour waiting to speak to someone to cash out, still waiting. No one working at the cash. Would not recommend this location for car service.

Took my car in to repair a small slow leak. They charged me $35 for an “inspection” that apparently told them I need all new tires, all new rotors, and all new brakes.nnFunny thing is, brakes/rotors were JUST replaced, and my regular mechanic was able to patch the tire just fine. Imagine that???nnWhen I said to the girl at the counter “I know you guys are trained to get as much money as you possibly can from anybody who walks in the door. But why are you trying to sell me things that I know I don’t need?” To which she replied “oh we suggest things with the safety of the driver in mind” really? So the driver who just got new brakes needs new brakes? And the tire you said that you couldn’t patch and needs to be replaced was patched elsewhere. How does that work? “Canadas garage”? More like Canadas scam artists.nnLuckily I know enough about cars that I knew what I was being told was false. I can’t imagine how much money these people have gotten from unsuspecting drivers that don’t know any better.nnABSOLUTELY EMBARRASSING that this is a Canadian owned/operated business. Disgusting

I just left my car for Safety on which minimum charge is $225, I left my car and keys with them and asked for a ride to the gym which is 3 mins drive I was told that they don’t have anyone. Then to make it worse as I was coming out of the store to walk to the GYM while my car is done. I was stopped and searched by one of the managers apparently accusing me of stealing. I and straight to the doors from service department. This is a shame and I will never go to this store and recommend not going to this store. Because they accuse you of stealing

We have been loyal Canadian Tire customers for years, with paid Select program membership, but after our multiple experiences at the Ajax Auto branch, we’re planning to cancel both memberships.nnI had my car pass a safety inspection at another Canadian Tire location without any issues. A few weeks later, I needed a new safety for plate registration and went to the Ajax branch. Suddenly, the same car “had” brakes and tires issues, and we ended up paying close to $1800. The most frustrating part is how they took advantage of our urgent situation, claiming parts needed to be “sourced from local vendors” — a tactic that left us feeling trapped into paying inflated costs.nnThis location repeatedly gave misleading and inconsistent pricing. For example, when I first got my safety done, I was quoted $240 + tax for thermostat labour. Months later, I called to confirm the price before booking and was told again it was $240 + tax. However, when I arrived, I was handed a quote for nearly $500 plus tax— with a sudden $300 charge for a coolant flush that they had never previously mentioned as a separate charge, despite us discussing it multiple times including a day before. Also still can’t digest the fact that they wanted to charge 300$ for a coolant flush.nnAlso would like to thank Mr. Richard, the store supervisor, for being unfriendly and unhelpful throughout the process, often answering in single words or not responding at all. You made sure we felt bad about ourselves every time we walked up to the desk.nnThis experience showed a complete lack of transparency, professionalism, and basic courtesy.nnWe will never return to this location and would strongly advise others to avoid it if anyone value honest communication and fair pricing, especially for your car inspections.
