I’d like to send a shout out to Darian in the garage! We came in on Xmas eve and he replaced our wipers quickly and efficiently! When I tried to tip him he would not accept it at all! So I wanted to say what a good guy he is! Thank you Darian! I know you don’t follow hockey or know much about it and that’s ok! But I appreciated you so much for helping us out! I ordered four heavy items in large boxes for pickup yesterday. I knew that I wasn’t quite strong enough to lift the boxes myself into the truck but took a risk that someone would help me. I didn’t have to wait at all, they sent me to the back with my truck to pick the stuff up. Three super nice and helpful guys helped me load my truck and I was off in a few minutes. They were careful, safety conscious, and very polite. I don’t expect much from big box stores and was kind of shocked that I left feeling helped and really good about my purchase and pickup.

I dropped by Canadian Tire on the west end to see how long it would take to replace my left signalling light lightbulb. Katrina was very helpful and said to come back in 45 minutes as the technician was on lunch. No problem, went back 45 minutes later and talked to the young guy sitting at one of the desks and he then told me that it would take at least a day to replace the lightbulb. I decided not to leave my car for a lightbulb replacement. I then called about 30 minutes later to make an appointment to get this done and was put on hold for a total of 50 minutes. I decided to stay on hold just to see how long it would take for someone to answer. Finally, Katrina answered and said I could come back right away to get this done. I told her I appreciated that she was knowledgeable about the timeframes in getting service done, but then she told me it would cost $85-$90 to replace one bulb. Of course I didn’t go, service was ridiculous and cost was outrageous. Never would I get service done at this location as front desk have no clue what they’re doing other than Katrina and afraid service technicians don’t either.

First, I want to thank the gentleman in the garden section at the Edmonton West End store who helped me find Jiffy pots tonight, Monday, Dec. 22. I stopped in after work specifically to buy those and soil for starting seeds, as many stores don’t carry these items before spring. His help was genuinely appreciated.nnUnfortunately, the rest of my experience was very disappointing and will likely be my last visit to this location. This is not the same friendly store it used to be, and I will not be shopping here anymore.nnAfter paying for my items and leaving the store calmly—with my receipt in hand—I was stopped outside in the cold by a security guard who asked to search my personal belongings. I was not rushed, I paid for everything, and no one approached me inside the store. If there had been a concern, it should have been addressed before I exited, not afterward.nnI refused the search, as is my right. I did raise my voice, and for that I personally apologize to the security guard. However, I am extremely upset by the situation overall and strongly believe I was unfairly profiled as a normal, regular customer.nnI have shopped at this Canadian Tire West Point for 18 years, but after this experience, I will not be returning. To the cashier who served me and may have been involved in this episode, I wish you happy and healthy holidays, as you appeared rather apathetic or unwell. To the owner and management: please reconsider practices that make loyal customers feel disrespected and targeted.nnI hardly ever write negative reviews, but this was really disappointing. Please do not respond with “call us to discuss”—I won’t be doing that. I will, however, make sure my friends and family are aware of my experience.nnHappy holidays, everyone.
