One star is only because they got me in for service immediately. While in Edmonton on the 21st of November I was driving through St Albert on the return trip north. When I stopped at a traffic light I noticed front passenger tire smoking. Sure enough after stopping the wheel was extremely hot. Getting out of vehicle I saw a Canadian Tire across the road and is usually my choice for repairs. Very friendly staff at service counter and within a couple hours had estimate for brake job. Rotors , pads, calipers and brake lines. Rotors and pads done at another Can Tire store just over one year ago. When I asked about warranty they said no but after getting them to look again they removed cost of pads and rotors. Thank you! Now the issues start. On Saturday received a call saying the vehicle was ready but… they couldn’t source the brake lines. So I asked… how is it done when you told me they needed to be replaced? Answer .. Dodge was closed until Monday! So I started to ask more questions like if you were driving this vehicle would you feel save with your family in it. Answer. No I would fix it is what they said! So I told them to keep it until Monday and look for part. On Monday they call and say 7-10 days for part out of the USA But in the mean time the vehicle had been partially repaired without any consultation. Called GM of store who immediately went on the offensive talk without any details. Rudely passed on to service manager who did spend some time talking with me. I wanted to get my vehicle back home so was convinced it was save but that I would get my local CT store to order part and replace brake lines. Picked up on Tuesday with the knowledge that all tires had been removed for brake inspection so brought torque wrench along as I always do when necessary. Tires on vehicle were bought and rotated regularly firm and by Canadian Tire. After driving about 70kms i stopped to retorque. Multiple lug nuts that I couldn’t get socket on and one that had the Crome cover completely ripped off! If I had a flat or problem with wheel I wouldn’t have been able to remove! So I made it from CT to CT at home. Wednesday morning now and my Jeep is once again in shop to replace lug nuts. And yes I did call St Albert store back to let them know only to start getting attitude and BS explanation!! Bottom line was I’m glad that they didn’t send someone else down the road like this. Or do they???? I hung up on the guy. I asked for the lugs to be played for but I will just do it myself!!!? Don’t go here!!!!! Picture is showing the stripped nut and on this wheel two other nuts that socket would not go on! Update to first review…. Replaced all lug nuts and when Canadian Tire in Athabasca did this they informed me I need the rear brakes replaced also. Pads and rotors. St. Albert did brake inspection and didn’t even mention. 10 lug nuts were put aside to show that they were hard to remove!
Huge thanks to Sylvain for replacing the battery in my 2010 Dodge Journey so quickly and professionally! Super friendly, did an excellent job, and even gave us a detailed guide on how to take care of the car in the future.nnI highly recommend him — top-notch service and professionalism, 11/10!
We had a great experience buying our baby stroller and car seat at St. Albert Canadian tire today. Their employee, WREN, helped us patiently while we decided what product to get. He even helped us figure out the different ways to operate the stroller - unfold, fold, recline, etc. I hope management will share how much we appreciated Wren’s efforts in assisting us today. Thank you!
Gave Canadian tire a call at around 1215 and was shocked to hear a voice after one ring. I think her name was Nadia or Nadine ? Sorry. Very professional, calm and right to the point. The other workers in the service area were all very helpful and made sure I, and other customers were happy. D.j I think was his name, went above and beyond. Very knowledgeable with a bright future ahead of him. John with the stache is a great example for newer hires to learn from. He's vocal and made sure to welcome and ask customers if they need assistance. The mechanics/ technicians were efficient and took care of my car as they would their own nan. Thanks bellrose C.T. keep it up.
I phoned Canadian tire on Thursday Jan 29 around 5 PM to see if they can fix a tire with slow leak. They said bring it rite away and the will fix it. Got there at 5:15:PM. Looked at tire and told me it was not repairable because nail went in at an angle . So they took it off the rim and put my spare on. All this took90 minutes and I got charged $60. Took the tire to an actual tire shop. They could not believe the Canadian tire could not fix it. Not only did the tire shop fix it, I was out of there in 30 minutes. I will not go to Canadian tire shops. All they did was gouge me for money. I will tell everyone I know not to go to the Canadian tire St. Albert..terrible service. I would some kind of a refund on my bill.
