I went there for the first time today and I fell in love. Great food. Great service. Ladies are really friendly! Moreover, the price was sooo reasonable. I’ll be back every time I’m around the area.
This is a small hole in the wall spot that serves up western comfort food with a small Chinese food menu - burgers, fries, soup, omelletes etc. The staff here are so friendly and will do their best to accommodate you - for example, they brought out my food so I didn't have to go in again after ordering! Food is really good - I had their cheese burger awhile ago and it was filling, tasty and came with a side of crinkle cut French fries! Price - you'll be mindblown by how cheap the food is. Food is quality and price is so affordable. Very old and run down looking in the exterior and interior, though, it has the late 80s no fuss-diner vibe and feel. Today I didn't have much cash on hand so I just ordered a small French fries - $3.95. Came out hot, tasty and not overdone! #supportsmallbusiness
I give 2 stars only because they were nice and giving affordable food service to people. But in my opinion the food quality doesn't even deserve 1 star. I paid 14 dollars tax included for their dish which I couldn't eat at all. It was soo greasy and you taste very bad quality, cheap oil. There was a beef, rice and brocoli. I forced myself to eat only brocolis to feel a little bit full but because of terrible taste of oil, I couldn't even finish that. If I would go somewhere else, maybe 5 dollars I'd pay more but eat well. If you can't afford food more than 10 dollars go and try, they have cheaper options but be ready to have very bad quality and unhealthy stuff.
My friend got Veal cutlet special for $10. I was charged $19 for the same exact meal plus ONE DIET PEPSI CAN. NEVER WILL I GO BACK. I WORK AROUND CORNER AND EAT LUNCH EVERY DAY....NEVER HERE AGAIN!!
Nice little place, food was good was like a Canadian/Asian fusion restaurant. From burgers to chow mein. I was pretty happy with the service and the level of effort put into the food. Keep up the good work!!
I was first attracted to the sandwich board painted in red letters CAFE. Saw inside $7.95 breakfast special. And then I saw a sign cash only! Loved it all immediately. My breakfast special was 2 eggs bacon shredded hashbrowns toast. $8 coffee $1.75 and quite good actually. People around us were ordering the Chinese food which is a huge plate that looked pretty good for $10 something. Clean environment. Loved our server . She’s busy! There’s no chit chat , it’s what do you want ? loved it. Service is really good. Food was decent. I’ll be back for another $21 bill for 2 entrees 2 drinks . That’s $21 after tax. I think the place next door tests your drugs for you to make sure there’s no fentanyl so very convenient location also :p joking
I love finding places just like these. Quaint little humble places to eat, bonus if the food is delicious, bonus if the staff is friendly and inviting. I'm happy to report that this place is excellent. My daughter ordered a bowl of cream of mushroom, my wife ordered a mushroom cheeseburger with a side of cream of mushroom, and I ordered the clubhouse and fries. Let me just say, the cream of mushroom was superb, and I can't stand cream of mushroom soup normally. The clubhouse was warm, soft, and delicious top to bottom and the fries were perfect The burger was as well scrumptious and steaming hot on a summer day! Food this good normally comes with a wait time, but no, we waited perhaps 5 minutes before food started arriving, and maybe 15 minutes total for everything to have arrived. The staff is so friendly. The waitress and front woman was smiling the entire time and with every question I asked. She genuinely made me feel like she appreciated that we were guests at her restaurant. During our stay we noticed people coming in and out, but it was never too crowded or cramped. Lending itself to a comfortable stay where I didn't feel rushed. We also noticed plenty of what we assume are regulars popping in and out, and the staff remembering their regular orders at a moments notice. Now that's service. We enjoyed our stay so much we ordered a born of Wonton Soup just to extend it a little bit longer. And you know what? They were frickin delicious as well. I'd say it's pretty easy to recommend this place. It's easy to miss as you drive along Hastings avoiding the traffic, and if your expecting high class and fancy tables and seating you may be disappointed. This isn't a romantic dinner location. This is instead a fantastic place to come for a relaxed and delicious meal with the family or friends. Looking for Soup or Sandwiches or an amazing bowl of Wonton? come here.
Something you can rely on a good old fashioned greasy spoon bacon and egg breakfast for what used to be. I don't know 395 or 5 years ago. I think is now 8:25 I think before 10:00 and then 9:50 the rest of the day. Something like that? Or maybe at 785 and then 8:25 but still a good breakfast. All in all just a little pricey but but but all right I enjoyed it
A hood classic and a community staple. Low key hidden gem if you’re looking to feel out the neighbourhood while enjoying some cheap eats. Unpretentious diner food and a handful of Chinese food items too Vancouver style. All served up in a snoozy, no-frills hole in the wall environment where half of the patrons seem more like fixtures than customers. Also, the lady that runs the place is a hoot — check it out.
Awesome experience except what occurred when we came tried a few dishes so far my favourite is chicken curry but needs more sauce
