Cafe Insomnia & Trattoria

There are few places that do authentic simple Italian, and do it well. This place does it. Simple dishes full of flavour... they even make their Pane-cotta on the premises... Absolutely delicious. The layout is open - and the service is stellar. If you are looking for authentic Italian like Nonna made... this is the place to go.

New ownership will always have it's challenges when changing things up...they seemed to have ironed them out, and moved forward. Great food and the people working here are fantastic!!!! Mr. Kirkconnell is way off in his remarks...must have just had a bad day at work lol

What happened?... I’ve loved this place for 15 years. New owners and the place now has oh so precious decor. Pillows stuck on every windowsill make seating by the window uncomfortable. Table runners drop down on to your lap. But who cares about ugly decor. The food is no longer good. I had tasteless and soggy ceasar salad with no lemon, no anchovy and no croutons. Just soggy lettuce. Tasteless.With that I was served a piece of leather that they called a chicken parm. It was so over cooked (reheated) that I couldn’t chew it. It had a tablespoon of dried out tomato sauce and thankfully, some cheese. I’m sad to see this place go so far down hill.

Wonderful fresh pasta. Delicious salads. Great place for a romantic evening dinner or a quick lunch. Recommend making a reservation amy time because it's a popular place.
