This is a great convenient cafe for VGH. Your alternative is the cafeteria on the 3rd floor. This is the place where staff, students, and visitors alike grab coffee or some food. When I was a student here, we use to pick-up something here on our way to class at the diamond centre. Nothing's change as I see new students doing the same. The coffee is decent and the selection of food is good. Lots of sandwich options along with sausage rolls, samosas, etc. They can reheat items in the microwave for you. You're here because of convenience. It's biggest selling point is that so keep in mine.
I didn't have food this time although I've had their tuna sandwich before and it was very good. Tonight, I had a Latte. I asked for it to be nice & hot and it was which doesn't always happen at different coffee shops! The latte was also very tasty. Friendly service.Food: 4/5
Dropped off someone at UBC hospital and needed to do some work. I decided to spend the time at Cafe Ami because the photos showed it was tall ceilings with floor to ceiling windows. It's quite a nice, quiet, clean spot. They have a system for ensuring that the tables are clean. I only ordered tea. There's wifi via UBC Visitors and is right in front of the UBC Hospital parkade. Note parking is at max 2 hours. There's coffee and food if you need a bite, although the food doesn't look super appetizing to me. I'm sure it'll do in a pinch.
Located inside the Main Hospital pavilion at VGH and is the established 'go to' for all things coffee, or teas, specialty sandwiches, soups, cake, cookies, squares, muffins, bagels, and my favorite "choc cream cheese brownie". A little pricey for those on limited budget but irresistible none the less. Wheelchair accessibility: Completely accessible to all persons with disabilities. Staff are helpful as needed. Cafe AMI is just out of frame in the picture.
The cafe, located within VGH, is a solid and convenient spot for some coffee and light eats. While my partner was here, I found myself here almost everyday to grab a few snacks and coffee. The hours were great as they were open fairly late into the night. The prices were reasonable and there is a pretty good selection of food items. There are definitely lots of options in the area, but if you're sticking around inside this area of VGH, this will probably be the best spot to keep you charged.
I have had hot chocolate and hot apple cider here and it is quite syrupy, deathly sweet, and of low quality. If you have not been here, you are certainly not missing out on anything.
Do not go here, small can of pop $3.50, when you ask for food to be warmed up they screw that up too. If I was dying and this was the only option, I would choose death
Nice sandwiches and paninis. A good variety of bakery treats. Well done coffee and friendly staff. A worthwhile place to eat while visiting the hospital.
I was trying to buy the Turkey, Cucumber, and Tomato sandwich. The front person charged me for a Turkey Gobbler sandwich which is higher in price. I was eating it, and I didn't see turkey. I thought it was a spread or something. I ate one half of the sandwich because I was so hungry and decided to ask the same guy anyway. It turns out whoever made it forgot to put the turkey in the turkey sandwich. I mean it seems overpriced already. It's convenient, but the experience wasn't good. I'll be hesitant to go back. There is another place here that I know.
Ambient lighting greatly enhanced the overall experience. Wheelchair accessibility: Most round tables can accommodate wheelchair clients easily.
