A great mom and pop store with great staff, wonderful food and atmosphere. It's a small store, so if you're coming with a big group, I recommend making a reservation. The staff will be more than glad to set up a table for large groups. When I was eating there a group of 13 people were coming and the staff were able to move tables and chairs around to accommodate for it. now for a small shop like theirs, that's good service. And when my friends and I were stuck between a half set of fondue and a full set, our lovely waitress gave us her opinion and it ended up being the best choice for the group! The washrooms are clean and spacious which means the kitchen is clean as well. This place is great for brunch and a perfect place to have a little get together with your friends over the weekend. They have a great selection of savoury foods as well as a vast selection of dessert. There's lots of parking in the back as well, so if you don't find a spot in the front, try parking in the back and walking a bit more. it's worth the exercise.
Having been to the Montreal location and really liking it we drove 30min across town here to enjoy it again. It fell flat for my wife and I. The server was great and the main chef looked to be working hard. Food and presentation wasn’t quite as good as Montreal but close. The biggest issue for me was more in relation to the atmosphere. One of the kitchen helpers dropped an S-bomb because he dripped some chocolate we had our 4 and 5 year olds with us. The nearby high school also seems to have had some impact on the ambience with the “no outside food or drink” on the front door and the overkill of video surveillance signage. The men’s bathroom door also doesn’t open fully because the hallway is being used as a storage space. No change table in either bathroom, just vanity sinks we had our 7 month old as well. I feel like the missing little details don’t have us jumping to come back in addition to the family friendliness aspect.
One of my favorite places for my cacao cravings. You can really taste the cacao in drinks and their crepe & waffles are soft and cooked right for my liking. The service, ambiance & interior design are amazing, and I would go back for more. Some might be put off by the price tag on their menu items, but you get what you pay for and it is worth the treat.
Discovered this place existed this morning, so immediately loaded up the kids and broke the speed limit on the way here!! The food is great - the kids loved their waffles and crepes. My croque madame was excellent! The true star of the show is the selection of hot chocolate. Rich and decadent. Highly recommended!
I've been a couple of times to Cacao 70 in Calgary and Ottawa. The brunch is delicious and good portions! The dessert menu, although huge, is very overpriced. The fondue for 2 is almost 40 dollars and the amount of chocolate is about 1/4 cup only. I would go back for their savoury but not their sweet.
I’m all about sweets so when I discovered this place, I was more than excited to give it a try. The location is a bit out of the way and somewhat hidden, but the restaurant itself was nice and quaint. They had a sweets menu and a savoury menu which offers the best of both worlds. My friend and I decided to go for the Fondues & Fun set which came with a choice of a single or double fondue dip along with fresh fruit, waffle bites and brownie bites. We went for the double and ordered the Matcha Chocolate and Earl Grey Chocolate. Everything was absolutely delicious and this was probably the most enjoyable fondue experience I’ve ever had! Our server was also very attentive to our needs. I highly recommended giving this place a visit and I will definitely be back to try some of their other sweets and savoury dishes.
First time eating here. Great frittata and even a mini fruit fondue with it. Friendly place. Fresh decor. So many tasty sounding things on the menu that I know we will be back to sample more!!
I’ve been here yesterday for the fourth time, and my experience just keeps getting better and better. The staff is very friendly and calm, and the food is just extremely wonderful. I bought two of their chocolate bars that won a silver and gold award, and I don’t regret buying it at all because the chocolate kinda melts on your tongue after many seconds, and it’s just so rich; you somehow forget that you’re eating chocolate because the flavours, man, are just too delightful that my taste buds are singing! I also recommend so far what I’ve eaten and liked their savoury waffle and savoury crepe, “Bring on the Bacon” crepe, volcano dessert, their matcha fondue and earl grey fondue, and definitely those two chocolate bars: earl grey chocolate and chai chocolate!
Like woah. Ok, so they have a savory menu and a sweet menu. We went there specifically for dessert, so honestly we didn't even look at the savory menu. They also have a small kids menu, just fyi. My husband and I had coffee and split a single order of the dark chocolate fondue and it was so delicious and an all around good time. The fruit was super fresh and those brownies that came with it may have been the best brownies I've ever had. SO GOOD. My daughter also had a milk chocolate milkshake that was amazing. The fact that this place is open until 9 or 10 earns big points for me as well!
A very accurate experience compared to the original location in Montreal. They have a good offering of both sweet and savoury dishes. I had a hangover omelette. Very good and comes with a mini fruit plate with chocolate fondue to dip. Would recommend.
