Want to experience some of the best friendly service with some amazing food? This is the place! This tiny little retro diner was a first for my wife and I and we'll definitely be back! We had a short wait as did most with this hot spot filling up fast and enjoyed thier fresh coffee on the patio. The staff worked amazingly quickly and efficiently in the kitchen and counter was awesome. Love this gem!
Great little breakfast place! You get the full diner experience at Belmont Diner. It has about 5 tables and 10 bar seats so definitely be prepared for a wait during peak times. We waited about 45 min at noon on a Sunday. They have hot coffee and heaters outside while you wait. Service was great and the small staff was super friendly. They were working hard to get orders out and get people seated as quick as possible. We started with milkshakes - apple pie and creamsicle. We both got size small and it was definitely a small portion for $7 but they were tasty and just enough to tie us over before getting our food. We got the Calgary’s Choice Omelette and the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. We got the omelette with every single add in possible and it was one of the best omelettes we’ve every had. It was packed full of fresh veggies and lots of meat. The hash-browns weren’t the best we’ve had but not bad. They just needed more time to crisp on the flat top. The eggs Benny was to die for. It was one of the best eggs bennies I’ve ever had. Overall it was a great meal. We’d love to come back to try more items on the menu.
Top notch food, people, and general atmosphere! Just the kind of place you want to hang out with some friends and get a hearty breakfast. On this beautiful sunny day, I decided to drop in because I had a craving for a good chocolate malted milkshake. Boy did they deliver. I didn't wait to take a picture as you can see. It was gone before I remembered to take a picture of this sugary chocolaty heaven before me. My dish was the Huevos Rancheros. It was fresh, full of flavor and tasted like breakfast in Mexico. That sounds like a movie doesn't it? This dish kept me full for most of the day. It's important that a breakfast keeps you full just my opinion. The people were super sweet to me. The staff welcomed me with open arms like we were old friends. They sat me immediately at the bar and complimented my outfit. They chatted with me despite being so busy. Also, they gave me my meal in perfect timing. Suffice to say, everything was perfect. The only drawback that I would give this place is that it closes too early. It needs to stay open longer! I wouldn't leave otherwise.
Food was good! The reason for the 3 star review is that I am confused that when I asked for sausage I was charged 4:25 which I am fine about. But when we ordered the breakfast burrito without the meat we where charge full price. How does this work? Should you have not given us a lower price? But like I said the food was good!
Nice retro diner with booths and bar seating. Staff are friendly and food portions generous. If you're there on a busy day, you'll have to add your name to the wait list. Fear not, free coffee and seating make the wait tolerable.
What an adorable little place! The servers were all so kind and cute, and we really felt at home. My pal and I had a really nice experience and if I ever want another humble diner brunch, I'll know where to go. I'm very happy we decided on this place when we were deciding. The food was great!Food: 4/5
This place is laid back feel perfect for brunch. Servers and all the staff are all pleasant to deal with and friendly. I have nothing bad to say about the quality of service and the place itself, however the food is okay nothing special to it. I am mainly disappointed with their advertised “All you can eat Hash browns” if you see something like this it entices you and makes you think it’s scrumptious. Hash browns are tad over cooked, almost that every cube is going to be mashed. Maybe some people like it like this, in addition if you ask for them to make this crispy it’s merely impossible since the potatoes are boiled a lil too long, not my preference. Would I give it a second try? Probably.
This isn’t some 1-star review without justification. Arrived at 10:17 AM and left starving and disappointed at 11:30 AM. Not going to waste more time on this place writing an extensive review so here’s the bullet points. - Wait time stated was 15-20 min, actual 40 min - $6 for drip coffee is a joke when they’re handing it out for free w/optional donation in the outside waiting area - Food handling by servers and cooks was atrocious; cooks handling food by hand after looking at their phones and wiping their faces, wiping their hands on their clothes not aprons, and even wet coughing over the cook top. Hand washing station in plain view wasn’t used once for hand washing by ANY staff. - Feedback given upon leaving before they even started cooking our food 30min AFTER ordering was full of lame excuses like they wash their hands in the dishwashing station in the back. - Left before they even begun cooking our order, as we didn’t feel like getting food poisoning from this place.
Pleasantly surprised to be introduced to this spot. My husband and I have frequented Galaxie Diner since we began dating, but only recently is the first time he introduced me to its sister restaurant here. The food is just as tasty as Galaxie and you can still feel the Myhre charm and love. Can't wait to come back for more of the yummy bottomless hashbrowns!
When I want to ha e a special breakfast this is the place I go. The atmosphere is amazing, old school and hasn't changed much over the years. I love sitting at the counter and watching the action of the GRILL. ANYTHING you order here is good and they have really generous portions. The staff is amazingly friendly ALL THE TIME, a rare thing to find these days. Even the location, whole testy to park in, is eclectic and walkable. If you are visiting on a weekend prepare to wait. They have excellent heaters out front in the winter and a coffee station in the warmer months. All my visitors to Calgary get the royal Belmont treatment at least once in their visit. Parking: I never knew this but you can park behind the diner. Street parking is hit ir miss but at least it is 2 hours free Wheelchair accessibility: Not easy but doable. There is at least 1 booth that might accommodate a wheel chair.
