Small library. I was in rush doing court work. A gentleman helped me by giving me a charger cable. The lady with dark blonde hair at the same counter refused to help because I didn't have a library card. I offered to leave my ID card but it was turned down. I asked the same lady if I could simply email her my document and have her print it. She said that too is illegal. Then there's a Filipino man who picks up books and deposits them near the scan computer and printer. He goes out of his way to make as much noise as he possibly can. He needs a year of training or a change of job.
I borrow online and pick up at this branch. Lots of outdoor parking and next to a beautiful park. In Fall 2023 they need to temporarily relocate to Lougheed Mall because a new facility is being built. The current one is smaller and older.
Very loud and noisy, it would be very appreciated if the librarians reminded the kids to play quietly as there many people who are trying to study. Since they are considering the library as a study area to focus and concentrate without getting distracted every second by kids yelling and screaming.
It is a very good place for book worms to spend a lots of time. It has some many books, very good and kind staff and comfortable chairs to seat and read!
Excellent librarians and kids storytime. A hidden gem.
I havent imagine that inside you can do so many differents activities! And the library and the staff are very friendly! You only need to ask..
This library is inadequate in size and collections for the number of people who live in the growing Lougheed neighbourhood. As others have noted, it is also a very noisy library and seems to double as a sort of childcare facility. Many libraries in rural BC towns such as Castlegar, Powell River, or Prince Rupert are larger, despite having a small fraction of the number of potential users. The BPL branches in Burnaby Heights and Metrotown are far far better. They need to upgrade this location. Lougheed mall is supposed to see over 30 new apartment towers built in the next decade...
Love.love Caeron Library. Luned up all 5 of my grandchildren to have their own library cards. Age 4-8.happy fun place
Pros: -For readers or anyone looking to relax in the library, this library is great. -Above a recreation center and gym. Swimming included. -Friendly staff. -Good amount of books. -Cozy space -Great for seniors and youth. -Good amount of programs Cons: -For anyone who is studying here, there is a possibility it is difficult to if you are easily distracted. There are children and toddlers running around while making noise which can disrupt your focus. Main reason why I only come here to borrow books and study in a different library. -Small. Not a lot of seats because of the space. -Not a lot of options for books. All in all, Burnaby Cameron library is a pretty cozy place to relax for readers.
Wonderful place, wonderful people who work there. I'm glad that libraries are accessible to all kinds of people.
