We originally tried to rent a car through Avis on Hornby St, absolutely terrible service. Came here instead. The gentleman helping me I believe his name was Silvio was so kind. Provided the best service, even walked me down to the car as I was very lost. I had raised a concern about previous vehicles that had minimal upgrades including not being able to charge my phone. He made sure to show me the charging ports for the car and even tested the wireless charging for me. Really appreciate the great customer service in this day and age where it seems customer service is a dead. Haven’t returned the vehicle yet so can’t speak to anything else. But as it stands I would highly recommend this location.

Never rent here! Upon return of my rental, the car cleaner immediately walked up to a specific part of the car windshield and claimed a chip. There was no inspection or conversation, it was as if he already knew the damage was there. Chip wasn’t even visible by the naked eye upon initial car inspection. Not a trustworthy car rental location!

I will NEVER return to Budget the Rise in Vancouver, BC. They are experts in exploiting your insurance provider for damage you did not cause. Their behaviour is not only damaging to the brand, but the car rental industry. I rent cars across Canada on a regular basis and I’ve never experienced anything like this before. They don’t inspect their cars. They tell you they are undamaged and when you flag material damage before taking possession, they refuse to inspect the car. Upon returning the car a few days later, again they refuse to inspect or close the contract. I had to wait 20-25 minutes for no apparent reason, as there were no customers present and no calls to respond to. 1 attendant at the counter visibly doing nothing. Still I waited to have the car inspected and contract closed. Then they looked for damage you missed and ask you to prove proof it was present before you took possession. I am making reference to a speck under a millimeter. I rent monthly, for over 10 years, from 2-3 different providers and I have NEVER experienced anything like this before. Avoid this place.

Whatever you do do not rent from here! The South East Asian man who works here is an absolutely unprofessional nightmare. Go anywhere else.

We recently rented a car for 4 months. I didn't know you could get better rates for long term rentals but Pal at Budget was able to get me a better price for the remainder of my rental period. Pal was patient and very clear in explaining the contract terms. He provided excellent service!

Like the previous reviewer, will never use Budget especially at the Rise location again! Miserable robotic agent, couldn't have cracked a smile if his life depended on it...never had used keyless before so had some difficulty thank goodness for a good samiratian or I would be still sitting there in the parking lot lol and when I suggested a little instruction before handing over the keys, he looked at me like I had two heads! Left my sisters walker in the vehicle but absolutely no help from location or Budget period. When you phone the number you end up in call centre hell where no one can find your reservation info so you are unable to register a claim! AND 4 days later they still haven't released the $500 damage deposit!!!! Shame on you Budget for such lousy customer service!!

I rented a car for two days. Great price and no problems at all.

For unsuspecting people expecting a helpful customer service experience, please do not use this location. The front desk clerk profiled me for being too young to rent despite being in my 30s. Tried to say my spouse's Class 5 Alberta license couldn't drive a pickup truck in British Columbia and wanted two proof of ID and credit cards for us both. I've rented cars many times for work and never had to deal with a gate keeping attitude of "I will make up rules in order not to rent to you". Horrible experience and blatant my rules my way or deal with it attitude.

WATCH OUT! Terrible experience! I rent a car in April 30th, I gave back in May 1st. I got late 1 hour, they charged me for the whole day. I expected to pay 69 CAD and they charged me 190 CAD. They don't respect customers. I won't deal again with this company. I never had a terrible experience like that.

Atrocious. Booked my rental months out, when I arrived for my 7 day rental, was denied because I have a N license. I have rented at nearly every rental company in Vancouver & I book rentals daily for my guests. NEVER, have been denied or been told that because of a N license that a person can't rent. Not once was it ever said or printed on my confirmation that this is a policy. The man showed no empathy, accused me of arriving late for my pickup. I arrived at 4:15pm, which I called days before to confirm with a woman at the location. I changed my reservation time so I could pick my car up after work & make my ferry tomorrow a.m. to Vancouver Island. I am now stranded. I have planned an extensive vacation and need this car. The rental office closed at 4:30, I asked if there was any way my partner who has a class 5 license could come and put the rental in his name, that he could get there about 10 minutes after close. I was in tears with nowhere to go with a prepaid rental and the man just said "no" and kicked me out the second the clock hit 4:30. ...which is ironic because when I arrived at the location there was a "back in 20" minutes sign on the door & "thanks for your understanding" note. ...I waited patiently, but he couldn't do the same?? Now I have no rental and a prepaid reservation. Absolutely atrocious customer service. I called Budget and they said their policy allows N license holders to rent cars and that this was a personal choice of this location. I will never recommend this business.
