Cozy place, bit outdated though the quality of food is absolutely great. From appetizers to entrees to drinks, amazing. Bucca’s gourmet pasta is delicious, the sauce in the pasta will make you not to stop eating it. It’s a nice place to go out with family. Would be really nice if the furniture can be changed.
Decent but not exceptional, considering the cost. Service was satisfactory - waitress recommended my pasta, and was attentive to it not having feta, and helped with getting the dog patio visit some water. However, there was a bunch of water on the chair when I got there that got all over my pants. Amazingly they had a hairdryer that the waitress suggested I use for drying my pants, which was awesome. But that water never cleaned off of the chair while we were there despite them knowing about it they were busy. Good Ceasars, if heavy on ice, I'd ask for less if I had to go back. Carbonara was standard, not bad not great - boring, your normal carbonara. Calamari was standard as well, large quantity. If I wasn't so hungry I probably could have just had that as my main. No fun or unique garnishes some places have peppers for example, but it was cooked properly and wasn't overly chewy. They gave a lime with it rather than lemon which was interesting. The pasta I got I replaced olives with more Roma tomatoes which made the dish passable for me. The dish felt very single-toned. I would have loved a smokier taste, but the texture of the sun-dried tomatoes and peppers were nice with the pasta and feta. The pasta itself wasn't noteworthy. I wouldn't choose to go back because because I don't feel the cost is worth what you're getting, compared to other options in the city. But it wasn't bad, and if someone else suggested eating there I'd go along and try another dish like spicy eggplant instead of the olives ; .
Let me start by stating the service was great. Our server was warm, helpful, patient, checked in appropriately and was very helpful. However a blemish came in that the Rosotto Croquettes were a disaster. As you can see from the picture the Croquettes were the size of hockey pucks and nearly the coloured of them as well. They were dark, overcooked and oversized. Not at all the quality I have come to expect from Buccacinos. The pasta formaggio, also pictured, while a bit too much garlic for my taste though I am a bit of a garlic wimp was well made and tasty. The carbonara was excellent as well. The desserts we had were very good but the Tiramisu was weak on coffee flavour and the gelato seems freezer burned. Overall would still return as we have eaten there many times before but haven't been for nearly a year this time and this appears to be an off night.
The Sunday brunch was perfect! At a mid-price point the food was an excellent value and the preparation was superb. The cucina italiana food was wonderfully herbed and full of earthy tones, and the cream of mushroom soup was homemade and delicious. Service was good and staff were very friendly. Excellent!
Ordered the pollo pesto on skip the dishes. With a "fresh basil pesto cream sauce" I would expect a colorful and flavorful dish, however, I literally felt as if I was eating buttered noodles. The chicken was sparce and unevenly cut so it was cooked at all different temperatures.
We typically try and have dinner here several times throughout the year. We look forward to the service, especially the manager as she always makes us feel so welcome and never rushed. The patio is our favourite during the summer months. The food is fantastic and the dishes are very generous. Prices are reasonable and it’s a great location. I must say, this is one of our favourite places in Winnipeg.
This place is fantastic! The food is great, the service is amazing and the atmosphere is cozy. The cocktails are wonderful and come in medium sized mason jars, much bigger than the cocktail glasses you would get at other restaurants. The prices are very reasonable and if you go on Monday or Tuesday, the pasta and pizza is only $11.95. I ordered the carbonara, which was delicious, and I was putting the fat from the bacon on a separate plate. When the waitress came to collect our plates she noticed and offered us a free dessert! I paid less than $20 for my whole meal plus the cocktail. I would highly recommend this place.
Went for Sunday buffet brunch. Great selection of foods including gluten free and vegan, pastries. At $22 a little more than what usually spend but worth it. Great ambience - casual, eclectic. Excellent serving staff. Food is well presented and of good quality.
Brunch was super unorganized. One whole side of the restaurant was empty but instead made us wait by saying 5 more min for about 20 mins. Under staffed, food was cold. Bacon tasted like it had been sitting in super old grease. Pasta sauce tasted off. They had raw seafood on the serving table that was getting warm. Not only that but they placed cinabuns right next to sea food? The manager was impolite, aggressive and unprofessional. Looked like she was wearing clothes from the night before. There’s also a funny “old” smell when walking into the restaurant. Which was odd, you’d think the “fresh” food would over power any lingering funky smells. The regular staff was polite to us but other than that nothing good could be said. Lots of better places to go for brunch.
