Selling point: the meat - super tender, flavorful, and ample of them! Pros -Food is authentically East Asian but also with fine touches of modernism. There’s a nice balance between noodles, meat, and vegetable. Best Chinese-style noodles in town. -Decor is neat and modern -Easy to order, and fast preparation Cons -Free parking might be hard to find -The restaurant is still getting up to pace with service -Some if the components of the noodle soup can be quite salty -The soup noodles can have slightly more broth.
The food is incredibly flavourful, authentic, there’s a great atmosphere and the friendliest staff. The menu allows for lots of flexibility to tailor each dish to your needs spice level, noodle texture, etc. I ordered the Taiwanese beef noodles. Highly highly recommend.
Highly recommend! This is an awesome little spot in Halifax. We ordered a few items from the menu: Taiwanese beef noodle soup, 3-cup chicken and a couple of appetizers pork bun and pot stickers – and everything was really flavourful and yummy! The staff were friendly and attentive. It is a comfy spot. We will return for sure.
Wonderful addition to the Halifax Noodle scene. Great flavours. Limited menu, really specializing in some great dishes. The Beef Noodle was my favourite. The bao is excellent!
Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, and clean. Ordered the ribs which tasted good but were not tender enough. The dandan noodles in my opinion taste good but were overly salty, and the value isn't there for me see pic. I appreciate the simple menu and effort going into the food.
A cute and cozy place with friendly staff and great food. The beef was tender and flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the broth was tasty, although, a touch on the saltier side. I'm looking forward to trying the other things on the menu.
We had a great experience! The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. The staff were clearly excited about their work. Looking forward to going again!
Clean restaurant with minimal seating 2 four person tables, 2 two person tables, and 8 seats by the bar. The restaurant has a relatively small menu with customizable rice and noodle options. There are weekly specials as well to try. They also serve Japanese beer Asahi, Kirin, and Sapporo. You are offered a menu and you select what you want by circling or ticking off spaces in the paper which your server picks up and hands to the kitchen to prepare. We ordered the beef noodle soup, the tonkatsu ramen, and a side of pickled daikon. The beef noodle soup broth was flavourable, the meat was soft, and the boiled egg was perfectly done. The tonkatsu ramen was flavourful and presented beautifully, the meat was not as soft, but there were more veggies. The bowl used makes it look like there isn’t as much food and I wish there were more broth and noodles for the dish. Overall, it’s a restaurant with lots of potential and hopefully it will grow and remain as part of the Halifax food scene.
All the ingredients are here for this to be an amazing restaurant. Broth? Amazing. There was just not enough of it. The seasoned egg was perfect, amongst the best I’ve had. The potstickers I had as a starter were delicious, as was the chili oil dip. The only things that fell short were my noodles were overcooked and needed seasoning, as did the meat. The broth was rich and flavorful, but most of the other components of the bowl lacked the appropriate seasoning. Great presentation with the shortrib, but unless it is fall off the bone tender, which it was not, it is very difficult to eat with chopsticks and a spoon served in one piece like that.
Had the Taiwanese beef noodle soup, it was delicious. It's nice to have a place in Halifax that serves an authentic version of this soup. The broth was intensely beefy seasoned with traditional aromatics, the beef shank was tender and also got a side order of short ribs with it. Love how you can check off on a paper menu how you want your soup made, such as how firm you want your noodles and spice level, I got the three chilis and it was spicy, just the way I like it! For an appetizer, the dumplings were perfect, especially the wrapper, it was nice and delicate. The dipping sauce was nice and spicy. Will be going back and having the Tonkatsu ramen soup next!
