British Isles Shoppe

I was treated well the first time I went in. I dealt with an older couple from the old country and they were helpful and and friendly. Unfortunately, when I called with questions about my purchases I was treated quite rudely and hung up on for no apparent reason by some woman named ''Dooley''. No matter, there are dozens of shops that sell the same merchandise and I will take my questions, money and business to them. Saddest part.....I am one of their own! Perhaps the owner should look into how his customers are treated when calling or visiting. I was nothing but polite, but they treat me like a mangy Ned? Scots Wha Hae.

Nice selection of jewellery and clothing and the staff were friendly and helpful but they didn't have items I consider staples like Devonshire cream and cookies in tins.

I was totally impressed with the staff here. I was looking for something for my wife that she always got when she was in England and sure enough they had it. The staff were friendly and welcoming.

We've been buying our much missed British favorites from this store since Sep 2015 however on our last 2 trips we found that some of their potato chips (crisps) ie Cheese & Onion have been quite out of date. Sadly this wasn't discovered until after we left the store. Sadly they won't be getting any further business from us & we've now found an alternative store in Whitby that we're more than happy with.
