I ordered from Alberta Canada for a wedding I am going to and have to say, I really appreciate the efforts this boutique goes to provide a wonderful customer experience. The package came quite quickly, the dress is beautiful and I love the material; to top it off it was packaged GORGEOUSLY! I found their sizing chart online also to be very accurate, it feels like the dress was made just for me! Their customer service is very accessible and helpful as well. 12/10 I will definitely be ordering from you again. Merci beaucoup!
Possibly the best dress shop I've ever been to in my life. Fantastic staff, beautiful gowns for a low price, and an abundance of options! Would go again and again and again. It's a bit upsetting how they only offer returns for store credit rather than just an automatic refund though
Unless you're a teenager buying a prom dress, don't expect much help or service. Their dresses are great for one or two time wears for events or special occasions, though. I'd recommend going in person to try things on since the sizes aren't all the same, but that's normal for any boutique. Happy with my dress
The service was great, the packaging was beautiful, the dress was....well hopefully the return process goes okay. Their in house photographer must be talented. It did bring great laughter and joy to my family and friends. Note: the lighting is not the best in the picture of me wearing it, but you could see my skin coloured bra very clearly, and yes I did measure myself before ordering so I'd say go a size up. Update: I did order another, different dress from them and it looked like it did in the picture and is very nice.
My partner, Kim, has bought many items from your store. She doesn’t leave reviews - so I will. Your products are exceptional in every way and they are backed up by equally exceptional service. I accidentally opened a box of summer clothing Kim ordered that arrived here yesterday. I couldn’t believe the attention to detail. Beyond the clothing itself - which was gorgeous - the presentation was amazing! You even included a hand written note that was very touching indeed. This morning I went online and bought a dress for Kim simply because I had to support your store a little more. I’m happy to leave a positive review even before the clothing arrives because I know it will be above expectation. I recommend your store without hesitation to anyone looking for premium clothing and great service / support.
I could not be more impressed with this store. 1, the inclusive sizing. 2, I ordered a dress on Thursday, it was delivered on FRIDAY. I live in Alberta! and did not splurge on express shipping the dress itself is beautiful. The note inside the package was such a nice addition. Honestly 10/10 will absolutely buy again!
DO NOT SHOP HERE unless you like your clothes DAMAGED and BLOODY. I have shopped with 1861 for two years, and over half the clothes I ordered came with damage such as stains and fraying. But the final straw was my recent experience. First, the dress I ordered came with a hole on the breast fabric. When I inquired about getting a replacement dress the customer service was polite but defensive, but in the end they assured me 'they care about the quality of their clothes.' They then sent me a replacement dress that, to my horror, had BLOOD ON THE INSIDE OF THE DRESS. 1861 is expensive and sells poor quality, dirty clothes. I am an avid shopper of Canadian boutiques and have had much better experiences in terms of quality and service with Toronto clothing boutiques such as risque.ca.
I purchased a dress online. Unfortunately, the dress is poor quality and poorly stitched with disproportionate measurements. Unlike the photos, it looks very cheap in person. I would not recommend buying online since they deduct shipping fees for a refund!.
I am a repeated customer of this boutique, but recently bought the Torrevieja dress and am severely disappointed in its quality and the subsequent poor customer service I experienced. I received the dress the day of the event and it fit, so I took the tags off. Once I put on the dress before the event and started moving around in it, the pearl straps started popping off. This happened multiple times but I had no choice but to wear it to the event since I did not have another outfit. It popped off again at the event. I contacted Boutique 1861 to return it because it is clearly defective, but they have declined to offer me a full refund because the tags aren't on. While I understand it's not "policy" to allow a return after the tags have been taken off, it's just good business to allow someone to return a clearly defective item if it's a manufacturing issue. I've never experienced such poor customer service and I will not be returning as a customer.
Found my dress wedding dress! Staff not so eager to help. You will not get the say yes to the dress experience. So don't expect it. Bring a friend.
