Boucherie La Préférence

They can make a good boneless turkey roast when its fresh which isn't always the case. A few months ago, I bought vacuum packed turkey roast that was pricey. Later that day when I unwrapped it, It reeked like a corpse. I was upset and threw it out but didn't bother to drive back to complain. Today, I decided to give them another shot and went in to order a large turkey roast. The butcher who had just finished taking a roast beef pre-order from a lady, told me that they are not taking pre-orders and that I could go get the small turkey roasts in the fridge which were already several days old. I explained that I wanted to pre-order cause I only needed it on the 25th and those were packaged on the 16th -19th.They were also too small. He said no pre-orders because those already made had to sell first!?? I then told him that I had once had a problem with one of the ones that he wanted me to buy and that I couldn't risk opening a bad roast on Xmas day and besides, they were too small. He told me to buy 2-3. I repeated that I really preferred to order a larger and fresh roast. He told me it was that or nothing. I was very disappointed in this horrible attitude and unwillingness to provide service. I have been going there for several years on occasion and it was always a hit or miss kind of place but I did like the turkey roast (when fresh). Anyway, I went elsewhere.

Stank of the Lamb A good 6 pounds boneless lamb leg for 65$... Sealed packed, they wrap a new plastic with the date of purchase on it, CLEARLY NOT THE PACKAGING DATE!!! When I open it the smell was HORRIBLE. The next day it turn green... in less than 12 hours the meat was rotten. Return, got some steak exchange for replacement (More turn over, hopefully fresher...) I made the butcher open the others pack of vaccum sealed Lamb, he end up wasting them all, ALL is lamb was ROTTEN. Avoid.

I buy my steaks here and the prices are great and the quality is fantastic. Not sure why the bad reviews?

This place has some of the best meat at the greatest prices in Montreal. I have no idea what these other reviewers are talking about, it's great steak at a fantastic price.

Leg of lamb was rotten when I unrapped smelt terrible. This place should not be in business.
