Great little pub. Due to my career I’ve been to a large amount of pubs and craft breweries all over Canada so I’d like to think my opinion is pretty decent! Moved to Sidney 3 years ago, and while there may be higher end places in town, that I also love and frequent, Boondocks is always my go to. It’s got a comfortable decor inside, very very friendly staff, easy going customers, and really enjoyable food. I’ve eaten wings at every place in the local area and theirs are amongst the best. Give it a try.
We were on the banquet room side watching the band The Distractions play. A good fun night, not overly busy. The food was very tasty, with the menu offering a variety of all sorts of dishes...pub style! Their garlic fries were excellent..we will be back!
We stopped here on our way to the ferry back to twassen, We were hungry tired and just wanted to quit bite to eat. Being from out of town we hoped that the food was good and to our surprise we had the best chicken wings and pizza we've ever had! If I'm ever in Vancouver again I will be making a point to stop here for chicken wings, It's worth the ferry ride over.
Absolutely wonderful experience. Atmosphere is great. Service staff are super attentive and friendly. Food was AMAZING. Honestly recommend the taco bowl!
Went to the banquet side last night for the Johnny Cash band. The music was fantastic, however, the service was absolutely horrific. It was so bad that the people I was with upped and left. We placed drink, and food orders that never came. when ordering the waitress was argumentative when asked a question about portion size. After about 45 minutes, a member from our table got up to find the waitress, and asked if she’d inputted our order yet. She said no, that she was busy, and walked away. We asked for water numerous times which also never came. It was definitely a busy night, but service that poor is inexcusable.
A wonderful ambience and nice service. But the food for three of us left much to be desired. Fish and batter were not tasty; chips were small and soggy, pasta didn't taste "quite right" maybe not cooked quite enough? and the sauce was heavy. My friend's meat was "tough". Beer and wine were great... but we won't be rushing back.
The food was pretty good. My experience was kind of ruined when I bit down into some glass. I had the steak sandwich, mashed potatoes, gravy, and mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were great. The mashed potatoes I must admit did not taste great, they needed a lot of seasoning. I put salt and pepper on them and they were edible up until I bit into the glass. They did apologize and took the food off my bill as well as offering me other dishes and a free dessert. I really appreciated that but I do not know if I would come back. They handled it well but I do not think I could eat again at a pub that served that in someone’s food. The manager told me that the kitchen broke a plastic cup and some pieces went into the mashed potatoes accidentally without them knowing. I looked at the pieces several times and they felt like glass to me. The waitress and the manager were so lovely and handled this situation amazingly though.
We went last night with a large group of people. Everyone ordered drinks and meals and I have to say, everyone was very pleased with everything. The service was fantastic. Food came out in good time and was delicious. We were still talking today about how much we enjoyed it. We will definately come back.
Andy and Wendy welcome you with open arms...best live entertainment in Sidney!!! The live band had the dance floor jumping... Our server was amazing...quick service friendly and great food...large banquet room for any event...weddings, birthdays, anniversaries...you name it and they will accommodate your request...definitely family friendly and a for sure a returning customer in me!!! Vegetarian options: Variety of dishes to choose from...pastas, applies, salads...they have it all... Parking: Amply parking on site... Wheelchair accessibility: Lower level so very accessible Dietary restrictions: Servers guarantee to make sure to ask kitchen staff if meals are gluten free
