This establishment has done a pretty good job of re-creating what many British pubs used to look like back in the Olde country. Of course, times have changed. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. Based on the number of guests there were no tables immediately available it was Friday, 7:15pm it must be good. There is a liquor store attached on one side of the pub and Hotel on the other.
Had a wonderful time here today. Rebecca was a great server. She was super fast and on point. She is the patio Queen! Went for the 2 piece cod fish and chips with extra lemon. Fries were crunchy and amazing and the fish was full not just a batter but good sized pieces and delicious. I had a great time and recommend it if you're passing on the highway. Locals already know how dope it is here !! ; Ignore the paint on my hand in the pic. I just came from painting a house lol
I loved this place! Coming from Vancouver, I ordered 2-piece fish and chips. Turns each piece in here is surprisingly a huge piece! The food quality was pretty good, the staff were super friendly, and service was very fast. The beef dip was also very yummy.
I've eaten here in the past, and it's always been quite good? This last time missed the mark a bit. Service was extremely slow, over an hour to get my food, but there was an NFL game on. The waitress was quite nice and apologetic about it though. The chicken burger itself though, was lacking. Unimaginative. Bland. And the seafood chowder, sigh. We're minutes from the water, but you do a disservice by overcooking the seafood, and not adding enough salt. I'd eat here again because it's attached to the hotel... but wouldn't make a drive for it.
I came at a very busy time but still enjoyed a good meal. Veggie burger with fries and a sleeve of local tap while I waited. It's not a bad start to a well-deserved weekend.
Perfect place to stop for a cold bev and a bite to eat on the way to the ferry. Very fast service and excellent Jamaican wings - will definitely be back !
Rustic design with a modern twist for the interior. Service was excellent, food was delicious and served quickly and prices were fair. Everything you want in a diner experience. If I was a local, I would visit often!
When you walk in you feel like you are really in a old English pub. The atmosphere is great. But this is our experience. My husband ordered the Waddling Dog Burger and I ordered the English Hot Beef. Unfortunately it sat up on the counter mix up in the kitchen? and was cold. We suddenly realized that people that came in after us were getting their food! We flagged down our server and I spotted them before she did…so they said they would make them again. The burger was fresh but they had just reheated mine and the Yorkshire pudding was tough and still not hot. The fries were definitely fresh and oh so delicious, but I would have rather waited for a fresh plate than get my disappointing Hot Beef. I gave them a 4 because the burger was redone and the fries were very good. **So we have now been for dinner several times since my original review and the food has been very good. The nachos are the best I’ve ever tasted, a huge plate with all the ingredients layered right to the bottom with light crispy chips. My husband is now hooked on their fish and chips! Very friendly and fast service. Will definitely be going back.
Less than I was expecting. A regular neighborhood watering hole where I wouldn't have been surprised to learn 80% of the pours are domestic cheap beer. They did carry a few other craft beer of course and the food was decent. The Keno terminal seemed to be the most popular attraction in the place when we visited.
A nice relaxed pub. I will admit that I have only been there once in the last decade but then I don't live anywhere near it so this review is based on only that one visit. Firstly, there is a good selection of drinks and the staff was very good at finding what we were looking for - and they were also fun to chat with. The kitchen closed early, but the menu looked good. Actually, the pub closed kind of early, too, but it was a fun evening so I will be looking at going back the next time I'm in the neighborhood.
