First time at Riva. Wow! We had a small Caesar salad that was big enough for two, absolutely delicious. I ordered Lasagna, I would say its one of the best I’ve ever tasted. My fiancée ordered salmon pasta dish, again delicious. Great ambience and very well done. Highly recommend this restaurant and compliments to the chef. We will be back, just what Sidney needed, an Italian restaurant to go alongside the other cultural dining.
We went for brunch on Sunday. It was the first time to visit since it became Riva and I will definitely be back. Service was friendly and efficient. Atmosphere inside was updated and comfortable. Looking forward to the patio days but our meal on a rainy Sunday was delicious. Westcoast eggs Benedict was flavorful and delicious, the potatoes crispy and tasty especially with the hollandiase sauce. Worth a try and enjoy a meal with a view.
We had dinner at Riva while in Sidney and were delighted with this restaurant. Travis waited on us in a friendly and professional manner. We had salmon, pasta and luscious chocolate cake for dessert. We will certainly be back! We are told they have live music on Thursday and Friday. Vegetarian options: Good options on the menu. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options on the menu.
Great Italian food here and nice environment to sit outside. Enjoy the drinks with sun shine during noon time.
I really like Sidney and if you take the 72 double decker bus from Victoria it is a very beautiful ride. Sitting on the upper deck gives you spectacular views of the entire bay as you approach Sidney from Saanichton. I came for brunch to Riva It is located directly at the end of the main drag right on the waterfront in Sidney. I decided on the seafood cakes Benny. Oh man so delicious. A bit pricey but we all know everything has climbed in price. My server Loren was amazing and i will definitely be back to try more of the menu here at Riva in Sidney. Cheers Dino.
We happened to be here before ferry , very comfortable room, good food and great service. Would definitely be back. Update : went there 2nd time and it was terrible experience. Got our meal, charcuterie plate was stale, informed our Server, she comes back and tells me kitchen says its only the casing, no its not and she went ahead and told me im not going to tell my kitchen how to do their job and went on arguing with me for no good reason. It was the worst service experience I've had in long time where service staff is ok to argue with you , yet not ready to accept the wrong. These kids needs a lot of learning for sure. Never going back again. And that terrible plate of cheap charcuterie was $28 , so they could atleast do decent on that. Also the drinks are always watered down for some reason. Glad we went again to experience the reality , never again.
Riva is a spectacular waterfront dining option. The food is phenomenal and the menu has many different options, you are bound to find something you’ll love! The service is fabulous, the food came quickly and Leah provided some of the best restaurant service I’ve had in a long time. I enjoyed the cannelloni. It was delicious and the portions were perfect. Unfortunately Riva is often overshadowed by Ten Acres across the street, but Riva provides a far better dining experience. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
Used to be my go to place and this was my first visit since the changes. Like the new look and patio, definitely a great location.. The waitress was average and polite. Service was adequate, slow to receive the bill though. Ordered the fish and chips, discarded the greasy batter that was uncooked and gooey on the inside and the fish did not taste like the catch of the day. The chips were excellent. Another at the table raved about the mussels. Pricey menu. I will not return.
Good food, decent wine list. Great ocean view of the Sidney Pier. The bonus is they have live jazz 2-3 times a week.
Thank you to the staff at Riva for a tasty meal, and for being so accommodating with your time when we let you know we had a flight to catch. Next time we are in Sidney we will be sure to come in when we are not time pressed to enjoy a more relaxed meal. Your menu was wonderful, the ocean view perfect, and your team was so friendly.
