Incredibly well executed food, phenomenal service in a beyond esthetically pleasing atmosphere. Not much more to say. Called the same night and was able to grab a seat at the bar. Cocktails are also excellent. There are tons of great dining experiences in Chicago but I’m always drawn back to Boka for a five star experience. They are well deserved of the Michelin star and one of the top spots in the Chicago culinary scene.
We came here for the restaurant week dinner menu. It's $55 per person and you get to taste a their signature dishes. We've been here twice and I think overall the food was great but the portion was a bit small compared to other restaurant week menus, which is understandable bc it's one Michelin star. Overall, the food were delicious but only if the portion was a bit bigger it would've been a five star for me.
Their consistent Michelin Star speaks for the quality of food and service they provide. There was a little delay even though we had a reservation but the service and food compensated for it. Every course was exceptional but dessert was the highlight. Wine list is massive and cocktails were delicious. Service was on point. Definitely a must go for a date night.
Came here to celebrate a birthday and the experience was just fantastic from start to finish we did a la carte not the tasting menu. Every dish was prepared thoughtfully with layers of flavor complementing each other in a harmonizing way. The dry-aged duck breast is simply a duck lover’s dream with a surprisingly generous portion you don’t see this often in restaurants like this. 100% would recommend.
I went during restaurant week and had a fantastic meal. First, the cocktails - they were all deeply flavored. “As you wish” was probably one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. We talked with the bartender after we had the drink and he mentioned it had “clarified cantaloupe juice” and even altered its acidity levels. Extremely well balanced. We got the 4 course tasting menu with no wine pairings. The beef tartare was a good start to the meal, and had a lot of different textures within the dish. The duck leg ravioli was good, the white sauce was a good compliment to the ravioli. I tried the scallop too from my friend and it was soft throughout and well cooked. The roasted chicken was the highlight for me. Extremely tender, juicy, and well cooked. The whipped cheesecake for dessert was a good end to the meal, the hazelnut really shined and carried the dish. Overall, I had a really good time and would come back for the full course tasting menu at some point.
The food is really tasty and is really visually appealing. The staff are friendly and helpful. Try to go during restaurant week as the prices are much more affordable. Overall this was a really pleasant dining experience. The interior decor is also really fancy and cute. We really enjoyed coming here for my bday and we and highly recommend Boka :
Had such a lovely birthday dinner last night. My friend brought me and it was the first time for both of us. We ordered the grilled scallops, sweet potato ravioli, roasted chicken, and duck. All good. We finished the night off with espresso martinis, the hazelnut dessert, and a surprise chocolate birthday cake. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
Came during restaurant week knowing how wonderful Boka is. It held up to my standards, and the service was fantastic! Everything was beautifully plated and had the perfect balance of taste. Never knew I'd like a chicken dish so much. And I've never had a pork chop so juicy before. It had a similar texture to a juicy chicken! I highly recommend going here.
This place has great service, and fancy vibe for sure. The food were nicely designed and presentation looks attractive, but they were not the best I ever had in modern Michelin restaurants. One of the courses is cod, me and my wife didn’t like it much because it tastes strong, and salty. My wife did not finish it, but the staff had his manager come up to speak with my wife, and happily offer pasta instead, which we didn’t ask for anything. Great services, we felt very comfortable.
Boka was such a fun and delicious experience for restaurant week! I tried things I normally wouldn’t try like the beef tartare and it was delicious! The scallops were so buttery and decadent, easily my favorite thing I got but the whipped cheese cake with the blood orange sorbet was a close second! The flavors are original and all work wonderfully. Definitely recommend going at least once and if you’re on a budget like me, go during restaurants week to get a good amount for not a lot!
