Nestled in the walkout basement of a building in downtown Guelph, Bodh Salon & Photography offers a unique experience to clients.
* Clients receive high-end services in a cozy and friendly space.
* Clients receive services one-on-one from Jake, so double booking is avoided.
* We are a 100% cruelty-free hair salon in Guelph. Our colours and products come from companies who do not test on animals.
* We are committed to our clients and ethical business practices. We are fully licensed and insured. We believe in thorough consultations whether you're new to BODH or a longtime client looking for a change. We listen to our clients and offer honest, professional advice related to all hair and product needs.

We are a full-service hair salon specializing in cuts, colours and styles for men and women. Jake is a Vidal Sassoon and internationally trained stylist with 20 years experience. Jake loves working with all hair textures and is especially skilled in cutting curly hair.

Jake Somerville of Bodh salon gives each client individual care and attention for excellent aesthetic results- every time. He listens,gives attention to detail, and does beautiful hair work. If I could have given more stars I likely would have. I know how important it is for businesses to have updated reviews on their establishments - so I wanted to make sure I got mine up ASAP. I honestly had the best hair cut of my life yesterday. I've always been a person that hated getting their hair done in fear of losing more hair than I wanted, getting sloppy bangs, or having my hair fall out after an extensive colour treatment, so I am hesitant when I go to new places. However, this place blew me out of the water. Review on the actual hair cut: if you've ever watched guy tang's videos online, he uses this stuff called olaplex? Well, its amazing. Stands up to all reviews. When I came in I knew I wanted to add olaplex to my colour to see what all of the hyper was about. My hair came out more shiny, stronger and super soft after my dye than it was before. I sat in the chair with stringy, orange, rough locks and got out with long, dark, shiny hair. My hair is literally nicer now than it was when I was 4. The cut is great too. I have naturally very heavy and dense hair and it now feels light and manageable. And my colour tho... Its really great, Ive had a lot of compliments. Review on prices/ atmosphere, etc: I had a good time! Jake is personable, his prices are very reasonable (considering the calibre of his products and skills) and the shop is clean, hip and fresh. All in all, I would go back. Ill probably never go anywhere else. The second I left the shop I called a friend and told her to book an appointment :)

Jake and Michelle are amazing at what they do! Whether it be a hair cut or a photo shoot. Every time Jake cuts my hair, I not only get compliments of how great it looks, but on how amazing the actual cut is. People can see the talent in the cut. Awesome prices and an even better environment! Last year my better half and I were lucky enough to be photographed by Michelle. The out come was beyond what we expected! Michelle picked up on our personalities and totally went with it, to create amazing scenes. We love seeing them up on our living room wall! I recommend Bodh to everyone!!

Jake has been cutting my hair for 6 years now. I won't go to anyone else! I can confidently tell him to "do whatever you want" and know that I will be happy with every outcome. Recently, Michelle did family photos for us. What a special time in life that she captured for us! She went above and beyond and we were so pleased with how the pictures turned out. THANK YOU BODH!

I have been getting my hair cut by Jake for over ten years. It didn't matter which salon he was working at, I followed him until he and Michelle opened Bodh. Even though I have moved away from the city several times, I still visit Jake for a haircut each time I visit. Jake always knows how to cut my hair just as I describe it, and styles it a new way each time. Jake is always on time, has great prices, lovely salon and is super friendly!
