This was my first stay. I stayed at the sister property, Starlite, before and it was good. The location is great because I prefer the Douglas side of town and it's right down the street from the Dunes. However, the mattress was awful! You expect to get a really good mattress and night's sleep when on vacation but it was really bad. I told the guy at the desk and he said they are replacing them so that's good. The walls are thin so you will hear your neighbors talking next door and so they will hear whatever you're doing. The 'free breakfast' is not free - it's a $7 credit per person per day at the restaurant next door. The free part is absolutely wrong. By the time you have coffee, eggs, hash browns, meat, and toast with taxes and tip you will still spend a minimum of $7 per person per day additional on breakfast AFTER the credit - so this should be made very clear. Even though it is disclosed that the meal is at a restaurant next door I would much rather prefer an on site continental like you usually get at these places - no production - walk from your room, get some coffee, juice, yogurt, banana, etc. - and you're done and off with your day. The restaurant stop just added time and expense each day. The third thing that was not quite up to snuff was the patio area in the back - it was covered in detritus from the trees and other plants - very messy! It did not look like anyone was cleaning it on a daily basis to keep the seating area habitable. So if they can replace the mattresses, be more up front about the breakfast not being free, and keep the patio cleaner, I would probably give another 2 stars. The mattress is a huge deal so that's why I only gave 2 stars.

Very clean room. Love the back door to the hot tub area. Great experience with good food within walking distance

The employees were so friendly and the room was perfect. The outside deck was so pretty and night. I highly recommend staying here.

Clean, friendly service. Definitely a place just to crash. The wifi doesn't work and our toilet knob fell off but they really do try. I would say definitely stay if you only plan on crashing here at night. Only minutes away from the Dunes Resort and the Saugatuck scene. It's newly remodeled. I wouldn't say the price fits as we were the only ones here for 2 days but it was fairly enjoyable.
