Black Dog Cafe

Service was super nice, attentive and quick. Latte was smooth and not bitter. Bought the fritter and earl gray donut. SO DELICIOUS!! Black Dog has now become one of my fave coffee shops. I only wish they had a patio or larger seating/dine in area.

My coworker recently brought in goodies from Black Dog Cafe, and I couldn't help and ask which bakery she got them from. It's that good. I have tried countless similar items from other places, but I couldn't believe the quality and taste of these baked goods. The specially ordered tall Chocolate Fudge Cake won me over on the first bite. It wasn't sweet at all. It was moist. Their Fudge Brownies with nuts and Blondies are also to die for. Since these treats were shared between my coworkers, we cut them to bite size pieces. So they are smaller than their actual size. What's great is this cafe has another location, but it's called Gerrard Street Bakery.

We usually have coffee with treats here. LOVE their lemon tart, not too sweet - perfect for me. Peach tart is great, as well as a butter tart. This time we had a special occasion and needed some desserts. The lady was very friendly and helpful, she told us we can order any cake in advance, choose from good variety of flavors and sizes! We had flourless mousse cake and strawberry cheesecake. Absolutely delicious! And the prices are sweet too : Amazing service!

Excellent treats and friendly staff. Happy.to.be able to bring my dog in to order coffee as well, he didn't like being tied up on Kingston.

Very nice little café in an area where there is a need for more coffee places. As a result, there is often a line and the place can get full quickly. The coffee is good, the staff helpful and they have a good selection of pastries and savory baked goods.

Love the vibe here. Coffee is great. Staff is friendly and chatty. Savoury foods are made in house and yummy. Best part, the baked goods are made at Gerrard Street Bakery! Love it all.

Beautiful little place. Staff is always warm and welcoming. Coffee is really good. Empanadas are a family favourite. The scones and sweets are amazing!

My go to morning coffee joint and also spot for delicious desserts and scones. Everyone is super friendly, especially Leanne! She nails my order every time without me even asking!

Great coffee place! Really solid coffee and friendly staff. I only wish they had a breakfast sandwich! They really need to be open on Mondays. Also, would really like them to have some basics - like croissants, bagels etc.

love, love, love their ice cream and iced coffee! i had the banana pudding ice cream and it was a little too frozen for my taste but the flavour was delicious. i’ve also had their pastries, which were fantastic. their iced coffee is the best though since it isn’t too pricey but it doesn’t compromise on flavour.
