Delicious fried rice and chicken wings in south mpls and they have great takeout portions, it was my first time ordering here. If you’re in the mood for a slightly more sweet New York style fried rice and batter forward chicken wings less emphasis on a flour batter - seemed like it was a wet batter then fried vs wet<flour<fried this is your place. A chicken wing count is a drum = 1 wing and a flat+ the tip= 1wing. Also the shrimp fried rice was verrrryyyy shrimp filled, to the point where it every bite had 2 shrimps per spoonful. The cream cheese wontons were also filled perfectly, wrapper to filling ratio was good for me, in one bite. The only miss was the “homemade hot sauce” which is a non-peanut based chili oil 1/2 tbsp filled container not worth the extra dollar on Postmates. Probably not my go to place for wings, but the shrimp fried rice was good. Ordered enough food for 2 people but def could feed 4 people w the large shrimp fried rice, 10 piece chicken wings and 10 piece wonton.
Everyone has their favorite Chinese food spot and this is mine. I drive from the suburbs to South Minneapolis to get their fried rice. Here’s a tip, call 30 minutes before you want to pickup the food, so they have time to make it and to avoid waiting at the restaurant for them to complete your order. Serious, try the chicken fried rice spicy. Yeah, there’s some heat/kick, but that makes it legit. I’ve been going to this place for 20 years. They always get the order right and the quality is very good and consistent.
Ordered the general tso chicken w/fried rice and was highly disappointed and questioned what I was eating was really chicken... The chicken on the outside looked delicious but the more I ate the more chewy and slimy the inside was. Chicken smelled days old like it’s been sitting definitely not fresh. I’ve eaten at many establishment to know the quality of good chicken. This place use to be good over time food cleanliness and preparation has declined. Unfortunately won’t be ordering any more food from this establishment anymore.
While working from home, I’ve had the pleasure of getting Bill’s for my Chinese food fix. It’s my latest favorite. I’ve tried many different entrées and have never been disappointed. It can sometimes take a while to pick up food inside if multiple people are waiting, but it’s always been worth the wait for me.Dine in: NoOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: YesCurbside pickup: No
BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER! The fried chicken is absolutely the best! I'm very picky about my fried chicken and I couldn't get enough of this! The fried rice is perfection and the cream cheese wontons were absolutely wonderful!!! I will definitely be back!!! Thank you Bill's Garden for such a wonderful dinner!!!
Szechuan Chicken was amazing! Had a nice spice to it! The fried rice was top notch and the appetizer sampler was pretty dang good too. It was a little pricey but overall I would recommend Bill's Garden to anyone looking for a good Chinese restaurantFood: 5/5
My favorite chinese place of all time. They have those sweet cream cheese wontons and a pork fried rice to die for! Portions for rice and noodles are massive. Vegetarian options: They can tell you everything in a dish off the top of their head and allow you to modify most of their entrees. Many options for the protein of a dish both meat and otherwise. I really liked my dish; very competent with some compromises I was personally okay with. Cream cheese wontons: yeah, felt skimpy on the cream cheese, but they were nice and crispy. Veggie spring rolls: no complaints, hot and crispy on my to go order. Not soggy. King pao chicken: I asked for extra spicy and have a pleasant tingle on my tongue now. A little light on chicken but lots of veggies, including broccoli stems. I happen to *love* broccoli stems, so I’m happy. Veggies are still crisp, not over cooked. Dish is maybe a little over sauced for my tastes but it’s a good sauce and I’m okay with it. Overall, very competent for American-Chinese takeout. Will return.
I had tried Bills Garden before but it was a simple order. White rice and orange chicken Believing I’ll have another good lunch from here. I made an order. I suggest NOT having high expectations for this place. On the call I mentioned I did not want vegetables on the chicken Lo Mein order. According to the cashier the phone line was crackling and hard to understand when on the phone. As I was leaving on my car I checked to see what had caused my rash on my hand. Since I am allergic to onion I had to double check my food. I asked the cashier for a fix and he took it in the kitchen to redo. As I left for the second time I checked again on the order and UNFORTUNATELY it had more onion than before. I am not one to write reviews let alone BAD ones but I had waisted $30 on an order I ended up giving away to a homeless person so that at least they can enjoy the food. I will not be coming back at least for a while, until I am able to see that Bills Garden is able to improve.
