FANTASTIC! This is a small space and Reservations are recommended. It is a bit pricey but you will be satisfied. The staff greet you like family. The indoor space is cozy, plenty of tables. The music playing was a bit loud for me, hard to talk over at times. There is a nice Patio section for when the weather is good and Pods when it's not perfect. I started with Guacamole Tradicional and a Bourbon cocktail special that was too good! The Guacamole was spectacular, the chips are from a bag, so sad . The Tacos blew my mind! Small tortillas that are FILLED with Meat. I had 1 each of the Bien Trucha, Pastor, Panza, and my NEW FAVORITE Quiubo. I will be inviting friends and family to meet up here as often as I can. This is a great place.
I love to post photos of the food. However, when this food came, I was so excited I completely forgot to take pictures of it. That should tell you something. We reserved one of the individual huts for about six people. There was plenty of room. Sunday evening was not busy at all. Note if you go with a group of people, they will put multiple tacos on one tray and you have to figure out which is yours. But let me tell you about the food since there are no photos. It was amazing! There is a guacamole of the day, that day it was watermelon guac! So creative, and yummy. The regular guacamole is amazingly creamy and delicious as well. There is also an elote dip and a side... Both are incredible!! The shrimp tacos were delicious. A note for large groups, they will not split the check or allow you to tell them a specific amount for each card. Either one person pays the whole amount or it is divided evenly. Highly recommend regardless! Enjoy the photos of the different margaritas, one watermelon, one avocado, one peppino and one strawberry!
We enjoyed our food here but the restaurant has a bit of an attitude problem best described as arrogance. Reservations have a $25 per person cancellation fee, and when we asked for a different table we were met with great resistance. Tables are too small and service was incredibly rushed, with servers coming to tables to close our tickets mid service. Worst of all we met great resistance asking to have alcohol on a separate tab for expense account purposes. We were told that was not possible. Upon insisting our server ask management, they said, as a one time exception, they would do two separate tabs or is that normally would not do so I’ve never encountered that at any of the restaurant before. Food is great, but I could do with a more relaxed attitude.
I’ve dined here in 2019. gotten take out in 2020, not have gone back for dine in in 2022. Over time this place has lost its touch w food quality as it’s become more popular. service, hosts, and waitresses were all very accommodating and so sweet. our recent visit was quite stressful as we book a pod for a party of 12. on the phone we were told “we can easily sit 12 in a pod.” during our visit, to our surprise they asked us to sit at SEPARATE tables..?? That’s all fine and well, IFFF we were told that on the phone bc we would have simply chosen a bigger restaurant that could accommodate us. but no, they must be so money hungry for large parties that they lied to us on the phone only to completely ruin my sisters bday dinner we could have easily had somewhere else if we were given accurate information. They’ve recently had a menu switch where i notice the menu is way smaller than it used to be, and their quality of food has gone down by a lot. It’s just decently good, extremely overpriced mexican food, when it used to be one of my favorite take out spots. 15 dollars for 2 crab tacos? they must me on something to think that’s okay.
I don’t review, because I think negative reviews are a dirty thing to do, to small businesses. But I am going to review here because it was fantastic. This town is outrageously lucky to have this gem. Go here. Eat. Drink.
Excellent Mexican food. We have a variety of tacos, queso fundidos, different guacamoles, and of course, margaritas. Everything is perfect. ThanksDine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Going out to dinner with small kids is not easy, but with the outdoor pods at Bien Trucha, it was a breeze. The service was second to none. Our waiter was super attentive and there was never a moment we felt we needed anything. He made our first experience here perfect. Food was exceptional. Their traditional guacamole was amazing. I would have enjoyed a bit more citrus but amazing none the less. Tacos were amazing. A bit expensive but once you taste them, the quality and taste justify the price. The papas were good but it was the one thing on the menu that lacked some seasoning. I had a Michelada. It wasn't very authentic. Tasted more like a bloody Mary mix with beer. Overall, it's a must try!
This place always delivers. We have been going to this restaurant for years and never had a bad experience. Highly recommend their signature cocktails and their tacos de al pastor.
This place was phenomenal! The Mexican fusion was strong in this restaurant. I’ve heard lots of great things about it and I wanted to try it. It didn’t disappoint. The tacos were incredible, the guacamole and chips was awesome, the refried bean dip was on point. I would highly recommend Bien Trucha for both special occasions and just going out on a Friday night.
Always delicious. We had an outdoor pod to ourselves with a heater and in the upper 50s it was a delightful atmosphere. Great cocktails. We always get an avocado margarita but also tried the pepino and apasionado. The habanero tequila in both was the perfect level of spice. The tuna ceviche pictures was excellent and very generous in size - could be a whole meal or shared easily with 4 people. The chorizo aioli on top made it for me. The perfect Mexican version of a spicy tuna roll. Tried the poblano soup and it was okay but we wouldn't order again. The potatoes were a little undercooked with chunks of queso fresco, so the soup had a weird texture and the soup itself wasn't as flavorful as we know poblano soup can be. Grilled bread would have gone with it much better - they broke a hard shell in half and served it on either side, which wasn't an ideal plating. Poblano soup at Altiro is great. All Chocolate Kitchen's restaurant actually had the best poblano soup we'd ever eaten, which may sound odd, but it's true. Out of the tacos, the fish taco stole the show with a deliciously crispy fish and creamy slaw. The slaw had just the right amount of bite, tang, and smoky depth to it to make every bite interesting. The fried avocado taco was okay, with a nice fruity sweetness from the pineapple, but it would be better if it was two smaller fried pieces of avocado instead of one giant slice, as there was a little too much unseasoned avocado creaminess. We noticed it in this taco the most that the tortillas didn't have enough salt in them and had no color on them - kind of took away from the flavor of the taco. The last one we had was the Quiubo tacos. The braised beef didn't quite have enough flavor, as I was expecting something smokier. It tasted very similar to a pot roast and there was a lot of it in the taco relative to the toppings, so it also was unbalanced. The toppings and beef were also all similar in texture. I suggested that they add some chicharrones to it for texture and flavor - I had some leftover from our guac and they were really good together. Don't get me wrong, we had a great night, but found a few things we wouldn't order again unless they changed the preparation several of the components were delicious on their own.
