Aliano's Ristorante, Batavia IL

All the good reviews that I have read about this property are true. The friendliness of the staff seems genuine. I have never seen such good customer service as I experienced poolside.

This restaurant is a secret gem in the heart of Batavia. Delicious food, great service, nice ambiance, and affordable. It's never crowded when we go, and that's why it feels like a secret. However, I like that it's not noisy, and the tables aren't crowded together. This is a place for family, young and old, where we can sit around a big table, talk, and enjoy good food and drink. A family favorite.

Ordered a Caesar salad from the Express part. It's the saddest Caesar salad I've ever had. Watery dressing, hardly any croutons, skimpy on the Parmesan cheese and tomatoes were added. It's like the person making the salad was confused about how to make it. They didn't include utensils and when I asked they couldn't find them and then told me they were waiting for a shipment. I didn't get napkins. Needless to say I will never go back. The total for a salad and a bottle of water was $16.00. Way over priced for the quality. A co-worker just told me that the restaurant is under new management. OY! Quality needs to be improved!!!

Food was ok. Nothing great and definitely not worth the price. The waitress we had was extremely rude. Rolled her eyes when we asked questions regarding the menu. When we were finished it took nearly a half an hour before anyone even came by our table. Then a good 15 minutes before our check came. It was what we expected so we handed over our card. It came back and we found that we were not charged what was originally told but a little more than double that amount. When we brought it up our waitress just shrugged and said 'oh it happens'. No explanations or apologies. We had heard good things and were excited to try somewhere new. Based on our experience tonight I can say we will not be returning.

Ordered pizza. It was delicious. Great crust, delivered very hot. Will order again.
