We stayed at the hotel to attend an event and were looking forward to having dinner here afterward. The atmosphere looked great so we expected an equally great dinner. It was truly a disappointment. It touts itself with having an executive chef, but clearly there is not much attention paid in that kitchen. When the bread basket came out the two rolls we wanted were burned nearly black on the bottom. We were then brought an amuse bouche of toast point with pimiento cheese, cucumber and balsamic...it was drenched in balsamic where you puckered when you took a bite and dripped all over the plate. When my salad came out there was so much dressing on it I could have wrung it out and dressed six more salads. I sent it back and even the second one had too much dressing....and I'm a person who likes dressing! And the spring mix (clearly out of a bag) must have been on the line for days because every leaf was wilted, you couldn't stab a single one with a fork. When the short ribs came they were okay but looked like something made in mass quantity that was shoveled into a bowl. And the creme brulé had also been caramelized to a burnt crisp on top. I kept wondering where that executive chef was checking what was going out of his kitchen as I did not feel quality in any course we had, so....we can take this place off our list. Which is too bad because it really is a great atmosphere.

I took my girlfriend to propose to her. (She said yes...) We sat in the private gazebo. They beautifully set it up for 2 people. They took their time and did deliver the surprise dessert at the end of an amazing dinner: the ring. They are amazing. Their cooks are fantastic, and they were able to accommodate my vegan fiance. The servers are wonderful, too. Prices are about $30's for main course, $12 per drink, $7-8 per extra (soup, salad, etc.). So elegant yet so worth it. We will go back.

Arrived 15 minutes prior to reservation. Waited 35 minutes after reservation and left. It's ok though, the couple that arrived at the same time we did got a table (5 minutes after our reservation) without a reservation.

Just this past Saturday, we had a baby shower at Atwater and was very disappointed in the service we received. First of all, they put us (party of 11) at a table right in front of the door which made it very difficult for other patrons to pass and while they were serving food, the waitresses and waiters acted as if we were in the way. We ordered mimosas which took forever to get. Not only did they come in different size glasses, they were extremely strong. When the waitress delivered the mimosas, she commented on how she wasn't a bartender and wasn't sure how to make them. One of our guests ordered French toast, apparently, this meal doesn't come with syrup. Our guest had 1/2 of a piece of french toast left by the time she received her syrup. Two of our guests ordered biscuits and gravy, it literally looked like one tablespoon of gravy was on the biscuits along with not having enough gravy, the bottoms of the biscuits were burnt. We constantly had to hunt down our waitress to ask for more to drink which seemed like forever to get. Atwater is a beautiful place but the service is horrible. What I thought was truly incredible was it was pouring rain when we arrived with the shower cake and many decorations, not one person was there to help us bring in the items but at the end of the event, a young kids grabbed a cart and helped us out to the car-best service we received out of the entire shower.
