Best Western Mermaid Yarmouth

We stayed at the beginning of our bikepacking trip and then on our last night before heading back to the US on the CAT ferry. Nice place. Rooms are basic, good hot water! Staff was super friendly and helpful. We got back i to town early and they were able to get us a room where we could out our bikes and get cleaned up before the rest of the rooms were ready. A quick walk to the ferry, downtown restaurants, etc.

I book hotels for work regularly for crews who are working away.nI try to book close to our job sites to reduce any stress for the crews.nnThe South West Inn has been nothing but a headache. The customer service has been insufficient. They were unable to send me an invoice and they were charging me more than double in US currency.nnAfter reviewing prices online I noticed I was over charged dramatically.nnWe work in the area a lot and we will never stay with this hotel again.

Loved visiting here, everything was so convenient for us, we brought our 4 kids and it was such a long drive there from Hamilton. The hotel was set up and ready for us. At the last minute, we requested an adjoining room for more space for everyone and since available it made our stay even better. We walked from there to downtown and wandered around the Bay, the shops, restaurants are right across the street, the pool was loved by my kids. Front desk was awesome from the time we got there and with any question or need we had in between. thank you!! if we travel there again, this is likely where we would stay :

Terrible customer service. I am looking for my invoice to be emailed to me.nnI have emailed, called, waited on hold, promised the invoice “by end of day” been hung up on numerous times. It shouldn’t be this hard to receive an invoice we paid for.nnWe book hotels for work regularly for crews who are working away. We work in the area a lot usually 2x a month and book often.nnIn the future we will never stay with this hotel again.

The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfy. I am Gluten free and Vegan, they couldn’t really accommodate for breakfast in the morning. They didn’t have any vegan options other than apples and oranges, they brought me gluten free bread but it was cold and only had 3 slices in the bag so it was picked at by other people and unsanitary. They don’t have a separate toaster for gluten free bread so you just need to have cold bread with some of their spreads like jam. I forgot to take pictures of the room until the day after
