This hotel leaves much to be desired. As far as hotel rooms go, if you've seen one then you've seen them all. This place was no exception to the basic discontent one feels in a hotel room. Fun fact: There is an Indian restaurant in the hotel. Not so fun fact: the smell of curry becomes quite nauseating after smelling it for hours on end. Our room smelled like curry the entire time the restaurant was open. Once it closed for the night, the room stopped smelling like curry. We did ask for a refund and the manager told us that it shouldn't smell like that and refused the refund. As far as staff goes... the gentleman working the front desk was absolutely wonderful! There's a certain appreciation for good conversation when you're already feeling uneasy, and honestly he made the stay a little more tolerable
Weirdest hotel in the city, not very busy and operated by an odd group of eccentric staff. Most importantly though, deeply racist towards Indigenous patrons and guests. The front desk/manager woman of upper middle aged got snoopy and asked entrance into our room to take a picture of the 'TV,' but wasn't very smooth and good at being nosy and discriminatory and instead stood in.front of the TV with her screen in my view, where she actually took a selfie in her obvious effort to look around the.room. And Indigenous people are stopped at the lobby and not allowed.entrance unless you go.down and get them. Room had old dirty spots like the ceiling. Stale air windows that don't open, and undoubtedly influenced by the desperation seen in the neighborhood it sits in. Also when extending my stay it was way overpriced a night for $300 with a pet and way cheaper to book third party. Staff are unhelpful mostly, my garbage and used towels sat in front of my door for a day. It s great though for its more relaxed vibe, easily extended your stay and you can pay with cash, they take any ID and this was the only place I could stay after being denied service at the clarion and then the Radisson. The Radisson once did not allow me to use my rental at 2 AM because it was booked by my mother and so they wouldn't let me in as my ID didn't match, leaving me stuck in midwinter with nowhere to go...nThere's a decent Indian food place across the building that has a cheap buffet. Pretty crappy but probably jy favorite hotel for how weird it is.
This hotel is by far the worst I have ever stayed in.nnOne star for the smell in the room, it's obvious that even though it is suppose to be a non smoking room people have smoked in the room. The room felt like it had recently been used for homeless accommodation and been hastily cleaned for our stay.nnZero stars for service as I did not appreciate being woken up repeatedly between 2 and 5 am by the homeless people that they rent rooms to. The homeless people were congregating in the hall outside of our room and knocking on on our door I guess they were looking for each other.nnZero stars for location, across the road from the hotel beside the parking lot for the hotel in the church is a safe injection site. This brings all the associated people and issues with it. Given this one would assume that there would be security on site in the hotel and a occasional prescience of the police. Neither have been seen.nnI would strongly advise everyone to NOT STAY in this hotel until they manage their homeless business policy. I'm sympathetic to the homeless people and believe the situation could be better managed.n1 Have security in the lobby during the night.n2 Confine the homeless guests to one floor so that they cannot affect other guests.n3 On the floor were the homeless are being sheltered have security present.n4 Pair females with male staff during the night for their safety and well being.
The room we stayed in was basic but clean. The location of the hotel is very sketchy, saw lots of homeless people and drug deals happening right outside the window. There isn’t enough parking for hotel guests. They have a small lot across the street but they rent it out to the public so it was full. I had to park on the street nearby which is only possible on weekends. If I had stayed on a weekday I wouldn’t have had anywhere to park. I was charged $90 for two small non-shedding dogs for a 1 night stay which is pretty steep. There’s a good Indian food restaurant attached although prices were very very high and servings very small. It was a very expensive stay for what we got. We stay in Sudbury often but won’t stay here again.
My husband and I are stuck here for the night.nThe hotel is old and dirty - we changed rooms twice and one was as bad as the next. The hotel smells, it’s in a sketchy neighbourhood. All in all, nit worth the money.nI have written an email to the manager about our experience, I do not expect to hear from her.
