I would have rated higher because Dr.D is the BEST!! However since Covid I have ongoing issues just trying to get anyone to answer the phone. There's been days that I go without meds because between getting through for a get a refill isn't possible. No one answers. I've tried 7x today alone, can't even leave a message!! If Dr. D was in I would already have them refilled. *Edited to add, was contacted personally regarding situation and thus far no issues since. I appreciated the personal call, it took me almost 10 years to find a new G. P when our family Doctor retired. This is my place and they listen.
Dr. Stewart diagnosed my Grandma's breast cancer over 40 years ago. They have both passed since, BUT he saved her life and she LIVED for 40 years after his diagnosis. I have attended this clinic since I was a child, however, I can't anymore because the current doctor I was seeing moved away, multiple others are on leave and they can't fit me in. My daughter burned her hand 14 years ago and they dropped everything to help her. My husband had the same experience. I walked in today with an issue and asked to see a doctor, and although the lady couldn't help me, she was very kind and gave me a number to where I might be able to find another doctor. I think she was helpful to me because I was kind to her. I understand it's frustrating, but the people at the front don't have control, so if anything, be KIND.
EDIT Feb 24, 2021: I received a call the following morning after posting this review. The woman who spoke to me the day earlier wanted to apologize. I told her that I appreciate the call. We all make mistakes - she has a job in which she talks to many people on a daily basis - I think the takeaway here is to remember we all have struggles; it means that we should remember to always speak to people with kindness in mind. We're all here for a limited time and should try our best to treat each other how we would want to be treated. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Ruthless & rude This review is for the clinic itself, not my doctor - who I followed to this clinic and is absolutely fantastic. If you book a phone appointment, make absolutely sure your phone is working and reliable. If not - and you miss the phone call - they will call with a rude tone saying they do not want to waste the doctors time & your next appointment will have to be in person basically saying you will not be allowed to have another phone appointment. Their website states they are "compassionate", however, there is no forgiveness for being a human being and making a mistake, in their eyes. I should also mention that I have had several appointments - both in person and over the phone - and this is the only one I have ever missed.
I followed Dr Myroniuk here after having my son in 2019. I have always had a great experience here. I love the portal and the ability to message when I need it. Staff have always been nice
Dr. Saunders is wonderful, I have been a patient of hers for quite a few years. I love that I can call and book an Appt. when needed and know that she will listen and get a solution to your issue. I've had quite a wide variety of health issues and have always felt that she gets to the bottom of it and refers out when needed. She is always on top of yearly exams and medications and many times she has reminded me when follow up is needed. Having a consistent Dr. is paramount and Beaumont medical promotes having the care of one Dr.
I contacted Beaumont Medical today to book a phone appointment to get a straightforward prescription renewed. This would literally take about 10 minutes but was told the first available appointment is in 3-4 weeks! I was then told to contact my pharmacy and get them to fax the doctor a request. Since when do doctor's offices pass the buck to the pharmacies? The Beaumont after hours clinic has also been closed for about 14 months due to covid. In that time, they haven't come up with a system to properly assist the local community? If this is universal healthcare I don't think it's working. Also, I understand front office staff have a tough job sometimes but no reason to be rude. You are not offering proper service - that is not the public's fault. If you don't like your job, quit.
I scheduled an appointment a year ago for my annual check-up this year. I had the time written down as 2:30 in my calendar. I did not receive a reminder call to confirm the appointment as I usually do, so I had tried calling the day before, but either the phone lines where busy, or they were not accepting calls over lunch. When I arrived they said I was late, my appointment was at 2:00 and I would not be able to be seen. I explained that I did not get a confirmation call, and they said maybe I wasn't in their "system". The receptionist checked and they did not have my email in their system to send me a reminder, this is a new system that they have started since my last visit when I booked this appt. The receptionist then told me it would be $150 charge for a missed appt. I find this totally unfair, I was not told of these charges at the time I booked the appointment, they changed their system and did not notify me, and I am charged for their lack of communication? I have been a patient at this clinic for well over 10 years and never missed an appointment. The doctors are all fantastic, but the administration leaves something to be desired.
Dr Penrod is seriously the best! When struggling with some health related things, she has always been very knowledgeable, and isn't afraid to refer out when she feels is necessary. She always takes time to answer questions, and is genuinely very friendly.
Dr Myroniuk is wonderful, I had switched to her just over a year ago, she is extremely thorough and her bedside manner is wonderful. Very happy to have her as my family doctor.
I don’t know how the actual care is but I googled walk-in clinics and they gave this office and it is not a walk-in clinic, you need to have an appointment. I just brought all 3 of my kids in there and had to leave. Also the doors are super frustrating and not accessible, not easy to do with 3 kids one being an infant in a car seat.
