Baymont by Wyndham Red Deer

Rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable enough. Parts of the property have been renovated and look nicer than others. The centre courtyard is very old school. The pool is fine, but the hot tub is a bit weird in that you have to stand in it as there aren't places to sit in the hot tub.

I knew this hotel was on the older side, which is not a dealbreaker for me, except when everything is completely run down. The hot tub was cold, had murky water, and no jets. The rooms are not super well lit, the bed is weirdly lumpy, the bathroom is incredibly small, and I have walked into the desk drawer more times then I care to admit as it has an issue staying closed.nAside to that if you choose to stay at this hotel I would ask the front desk for a room closer to the lobby… if not you will have quite the journey to your room. Not a huge issue tho.

What an awesome discovery. Yes, the hotel is on the older side but the rooms are clean and comfortable. We got a double queen room on the ground floor so that we could just walk out to the pool and hot tub. No more dripping in an elevator to go enjoy a swim. It was devine. The salt water pool and hot tub are relaxing and big. Jaiden at the front desk was engaging, friendly, and professional. She really made the stay special. Yes, the area can be a bit sketchy, but if you know Red Deer you already know that. I never felt uncomfortable going out to my car once. It's not a shiny new hotel, but it's clean and comfortable and the price is fantastic. I think that we've found our new regular hotel for when we're in town.

The rooms smell like mold right by pool. Carpet filthy. No table in room to sit in chair and place drink.nIt is quiet even with pool. The service in conference very good. Food good.nThe front desk so busy only 1 person working . She is good but lineups horrible in morning. Even just to ask question you lineup..nBreakfast horrible.nNo juice. No coffee.nHad to ask.nI feel over all, the breakfast and front desk VERY UNDER STAFFED. mornings worst. If you want room cleaned remember to ask for it.

Would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone! All the previous bad reviews are indeed true! We recently stayed with a large group, 2 girls soccer teams. The building and parking lot are crumbling, and the whole place is absolutely filthy. Our group found bed bugs, carpet beetles, an ant infestation, and other bugs in the swimming pool. The mattresses in most of the rooms were stained, ripped and dated. The bathroom surfaces were dirty. All the main garbages were overflowing. The ice machines were out of order. The hotel has a tower dedicated to living quarters, and there were always people milling about in the lobby and parking lot. There were multiple semis, work trucks and campers parked in the lot. Our group did not feel safe at night in the parking lot. It is very poorly lit. There was at least 4 other teams with children staying at the hotel on the same weekend. Way too many patrons to take on with little to no staff. Clearly, the hotel owners care about revenue and do not focus on paying staff to clean and maintain the building. We will never stay again!
