Visit was over the memorial day weekend. On a bright sunny day everyone wanted to sit outside and thus was a bit of wait. Ambience was nice and staff was courteous. We stopped to get a quick lunch so didn't try many dishes. Got chicken sandwich and vegetarian hummus sandwich. Portion size was great. Side of onion ring felt bit smaller than usual in portion. French fries were generous portion. Everything tasted super delicious. Actually loved the vegetarian hummus sandwich. Recommended for a good quality time ...foods and drink. Vegetarian options: Fries , salad and vegetarian hummus sandwich is best.
It was good. Sat at a high table. Our waitress showed up to take our order, check on us once, and bring our check. My husband ordered a burger and said the burger from Paddy's down the street was way better. I ordered the pulled pork dinner with onion rings up charge, and coleslaw. The pulled pork was cold, and onion rings weren't crispy. The coleslaw was good. We also ordered the chili nachos it's HUGE so best for more than 2 people, and it's not good if you bring it back home to reheat. It's not the same. Payed a lot of money for okay food. $70 for lunch and two waters. Vegetarian options: I'm sure they have options, plus they have salads. Kid-friendliness: Not a place for kids, but I'm sure they have kid menu or can accommodate. Parking: Parking on the street. Wheelchair accessibility: They have a ramp if you need to get inside the other part of the restaurant. Dietary restrictions: Just let them know.
It was a nice day and we sat upstairs in the sun where the atmosphere was also good. The waitress was very attentive and the portions were huge. After we left, the nachos made our stomachs upset. The food was too greasy for our bodies. And the nachos only had stuff piled on top.
Great service even when shorthanded. Food was above expectations and the beer was plentiful. The bartender was friendly and helpful. The waitress was by herself with all of the inside tables and we were still well cared for. The cook was actually helping deliver the orders. My Lobster Grilled Cheese was perfect as my first lobster on the trip and everyone at the table was satisfied.
I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant! I ordered the fish and chips, and from looking online, I couldn't tell how good they would be, or what they would look like, but I gave them a chance. They were actually really good! Probably the best I had downtown during my stay. Service was fast and efficient. I recommend sitting inside for a bit of air conditioning during the summer.
Arrived on a Saturday evening around 6:30 and were seated immediately. The place is huge with a lot of outdoor and indoor seating. I had the lobster Mac n cheese $35, husband had fish and chips with some clam chowder soup. Kid had a burger. The fish and chips were great! Huge, fresh piece of fish lightly battered and yummy fries. The burger was good but for $14 I’d expect it to come with more than potato chips. The lobster Mac was good, however the market price did seem a little steep considering the lobster in the dish. You do lose a lot of the lobster flavor in this dish so if you don’t want that, get something else. They have a huge beer selection most, if not all were Maine beers. However for $10 I would have expected my beer to be in a glass. The server was friendly however he was very inattentive. We waited quite a while to get our check. The food however came out super quick! Definitely a place to go, however we will be trying others during our time here!
We have been to BH Beer Works twice and it was ok. The first time we visited we got the Lobster and Spinach Dip with a flight of Maine IPA's. The beer was really good but the Lobster Dip was a little too rich for us to enjoy. The second time we visited, we got the BBQ Rib, Pulled Pork, and Chicken tender plate with fries and onion rings. The ribs were good. We sent fries, onion rings and chicken tenders back because they were fried too hard and were dry. When they came out again, we sent them back because they were over fried again and they adjusted it ticket. The beer is great, the service is great, and the atmosphere is great. The food is not so great.
Went near closing time & they still sat us upstairs. Beautiful view of Bar Harbors busy streets. Food was good and so was the waiters
Not good. The waitress was great but that’s where it stopped. There was a huge spider web in the corner of a booth and the lobster grilled cheese was seriously lacking on cheese and lobster. Picture shows how much bread was bare
Food was mediocre but great selection of beers! Serving size was also very big. Buffalo cauliflower tasted great but the Mac and cheese could use more flavor.
