Went for Happy Hour — $10 Classic Cuban Cocktails. So good and refreshing. Love the food. Shrimp and pork belly are highly recommended. Service was fantastic. The server and bartender were very friendly. This is a gem at Leslieville.
Food here is fantastic! New and more secluded spot, so its not as busy yet. We loved the empanadas, grilled shrimp, belly, corn and creme brule! Do yourself a favour and grab dinner here!
Stumbled across this cute cuban place for brunch while we were in the area. Love the atmosphere here during early afternoon! The Cubano might look low-key but it was my favourite of the two things we ordered. Service is also A+++Food: 5/5
Entering this place felt very good. The ambience was just right. We then joined another person "upstairs". Now lets talk food. I am vegetarian and we did enjoy every bite. The portions were a good size and tasty. The "patacones"/fried plantains in the "Veggie Plate" were excellent, same with the "rice and beans". Ok, one of us was not a vegetarian, hence the other picture - 'Guava BBQ Beef Short Rib' The service was friendly, cordial, casual and just right. Good people indeed. I had a 'cafe cubano' warning: comes with sugar in an expresso cup and a cafe cortado and enjoyed both sufficiently. For desert, the 'Cuban Coffe Cream Brûlée'... It was nice and enjoyable and it came garnished with cookies and blueberries. I do recommend this place and it has a patio as well at the front. There was only one area I did not enjoy - the music was too loud and too modern for my liking. So, it is up to you to provide your own feedback. This is a place I would definitely recommend, setting aside the music.
Vibes of Cuba in leslieville! This spot has all the feels of Cuba with that even better taste of the country! Cuban food while being tasty and heavy, usually isn’t too attractive to my palate. Bar habana has officially knocked that stigma out of my mind! Had a few dishes, the habanero hot honey squid, the grilled shrimp and the cubano. Squid with that habanero sauce was to die for! Brought the heat, but keeping it just enough that you want more! The grilled shrimp, while being good in its own, even better when you combine your bite with that mango black bean salsa it comes with! Lastly, the cubano, which is the signature of Cuba, the pressed ham & cheese sandwich. This wasn’t your ordinary ham & cheese. The saltiness from the chews combined with the fatty ham, just a marriage of flavours! And to wash it all down with their mojito or cuban style pilsner! The perfect ending is that Cuban coffee creme brûlée! Nice and creamy with the strong hit of coffee. The other thing that was specially made for us, the donuts that’s usually only available for brunch. The donuts had a nice little crisp on the outside, but soft and pillowy inside. The other thing you want to know is that everything they make here is in house, including the bread they use for the cubano sandwich! Service, just amazing! Everyone was super friendly, and really boosted the atmosphere with their personal vibe! Great job overall! Follow me on IG @thirst_and_taste for better pics, vids and more amazing content!
Amazing food, amazing place and even more amazing staff! Had a great afternoon here today. Enjoyed some Cuban beer and delicious Cuban food. Will be back for sure for more
Great place and food. I recommend the Cuban burger. Cocktails are amazing!Food: 5/5
I went there yesterday. It was around 4 pm and it was nice and quiet. The food was amazing. I can’t tell you how good was the sandwich and it was so light too. I didn’t feel heavy or sick after having that and that is a good sign to me. They are nice and friendly too. It’s a little bit pricy which I think comparing to what you get it’s worth it. I don’t usually give 5 stars but this one really deserves it! Hope they grow bigger and keep their quality so it’s easily accessible
We grabbed a couple of Pressed Cubano sandwiches with a side order of Yuca Frita. Overall, the food was good and it definitely had that homemade impression. However, I must agree with others that, at least for the sandwiches, the prices are a little high, more so if you order using an application. If you know what goes inside a Cubano and you have had one before, in Cuba or even the United States, you would understand that $10 for just the sandwich is definitely too much for the portion size. Anyway, maybe we will try other things from the menu and perhaps they will work out better next time.
La Cubana is one of my favorite places for sandwiches!! Customer service is always good and they follow covid measures. The fries are crispy and the sandwiches are amazing! I love the donuts, but don't wait too long to eat it because it will get hard.
