I’ve only ever previously had poke in Hawaii which is a different presentation. But, I’ve always wanted to try it closer to home and Banzai was a fabulous first time. Deeeeelicious! They give you choice of 2 sauces out of many and the signature sauce is so refreshing and light. It made the brown rice I had chosen feel like a treat not a health choice. The tuna and salmon were delightfully fresh and abundant in portion. The entire dish is a very generous size! Each of us customized our poke totally differently and both of us were equally pleased. We also ordered one avocado roll and it was very beautifully presented, but absolutely inedible. The avocado was not yet ripe. Looking at the menu, I would like to try some other Japanese dishes and will absolutely make the poke a regular treat.
Fast service. Good serving size for the rice bowls. If you want to try a bit of everything, I reccomend the mega rice bowl for 14$, which has teriyaki beef, chicken, shrimp tempura, yam tempura, mushroom tempura, and some sort of salad. I also really liked the sauce they gave for the tempura. Something a bit more specialised is the grilled eel rice bowl, which is soft and comes with a sauce. The various types of sauce I've had with the rice bowls have all been quite good. I commend the speed at which they serve the dishes too.
Ramen was extremely disappointing I couldn’t eat it. Broth tastes like water. Chicken looked completely inedible, I gave it to the dog. First and last time here.Food: 1/5
Really great little place and so happy to have a good poke place nearby. Good for take out - but also good for delivery. I'd give 5/5 if I could get my bowl with spinach instead of rice - it would probably be my favourite poke place if I could get it that way! I had the poke bowl while my housemate had the shrimp tempura I had one too, really good! and chicken bowl she was ambivalent about it
I ordered a Sushi roll combo and the beef Ramen. Food was good and came quickly and the staff is very welcoming. I will definitely be backFood: 5/5
Edit: after a year, they completely changed their menu. Now they should not be called a Ramen place anymore as there are limited ramen selection. Very disappointing!!. One of very few places that serve properly marinated eggs! The chasu in my tonkotsu is out of this world, soft, full of flavor and melted in your mouth!
Honestly so good!! I absolutely LOVE the build your own bowl, best part and you get to pick so many options for $14. 100% recommend you getting the crispy onion chips on top, delicious with a crunch. The fish is so fresh! You get to pick 8 toppings of the poke bowl with a option to pick 2 proteins of of 6 options. But if you wanted to get a pre made option they have those too! I got spicy salmon and spicy tuna with avocado, seaweed salad, pickled ginger, edamame, cucumbers, crab salad, nori, and the signature poke sauce
Great little Restraunt in the Marda Loop area. Clean inside, very friendly staff, easy to read menus. Clean washroom. Nice layout and Covid measures followed awesome. Food was excellent. Couple pics with this review. Everything was fresh and tasty. Only down falls would be on hot days the restaurant would be very warm and parking in the area is terrible. If you live in the area, perfect place for a decently price lunch or supper! When we are back in the area we will love to come again! A special props to the lady serving us, she gave my son a poke treat and hi chew, he LOVES them!
It was my first time ordering and it could have been a mistake but, one piece of broccoli in the entire dish and two bites of beef. This specific spicy yakisoba was lacking.Food: 1/5
Tried the new location in Marda Loop. The ramen broth was flavourful but the pork was hard and the egg was just hard boiled vs the soft boiled ramen egg at other places. The inari sushi pockets were interesting though and huge.
