Pre-Covid19 we dined in - always had a pleasant experience. Now. during Covid, we're doing takeout. Again, always a pleasant experience and the food is delicious.
This place has fantastic food! We had the gomae, steamed shrimp dumpling, the crazy buster roll and the lotus blast roll. Everything was perfectly prepared and their selection of rolls are quite unique and delicious. Service was also excellent. A must go to for me when i'm in Calgary!!!
They don't honor their 10% online discount. When clicked, it says the link is broken so order over the phone. I do, and then they say no discount. If that was the case I don't know, maybe I would remove the link offering 10% off. Just me I guess. EDITED: They took it off! Well done. Good to know they took this seriously.
Best sushi in Calgary. Excellent staff and service. So kind. It's hard to find good sea fish in landlocked areas after trying it fresh and Kanpai does not disappoint. I've never had anything I disliked from here and go whenever I have the money. Extremely worth everything you will spend!!!!
Amazing food. Cozy restaurant. Friendly service.
It was my first time ordering here. I was really disappointed in how thin my salmon sashimi pieces were. I can order elsewhere for slightly cheaper and thicker pieces of salmon. The sauce on it was nice - it was called "drunken salmon".
I was pleasantly surprised how good this place was. Limited selection of nigiri and some unusual preparations but still pretty tasty. Very serious about Covid safety precautions. As far as "freshness" is concerned virtually every sushi restaurant in the world gets their fish frozen and shipped and this place is no different.
Very disappointing. Thin slices of sushi/nigiri, rice tastes as if its 2 days old - dry and bland. For the price, especially, it's nowhere near 4.4 rating.
Terrible place. They demand me to wear a mask even thou I explained to them that I am exempt. Masks are not law. Do not go here.
Had a dinner here. Good tempura and the teriyaki I had was very tasty. The window seats face West so a late afternoon or evening meal and the sun can be a little annoying to the eyes. Can be a little pricey but if you are sticking to the meals and sushi/sashimi combos there is value to be had.
