I have been a long time customer of Banana Republic however after my last experience at Rockland Banana Republic I will never return. I had bought a shirt in November and decided that I liked the shirt so naturally I did not keep the receipt. Well as it turns out by February I realized I had a defective item where the sleeves started fraying on the back where they connect with the torso of the shirt. I had worn the shirt a few times but not nearly enough for the type of wear that the shirt was showing. Thinking that this was most definitely an anomaly I attempted to return or exchange the shirt thinking they would see that this was not normal (I have never seen anything like this in my life) and exchange or refund the shirt (my first as a BR customer). Because I didn't have the receipt they told me nothing could be done and furthermore they said it looked like the shirt had been burned... Yes burned on the back two shoulders. Needless to say I was very disappointed with the way I was treated by the store manager and I will never return. I have been tolerating clothing items shrinking and balling up for a couple years but this overt disregard for customers is the reason I will never go back.
